5.5/10

I watched this last night on the road on tubi.

This is an animated feature. I looked into it and 6 of the 7 animated shorts are considered canon.

I have never played the video games or read any books on the franchise. The only thing I have seen is the Halo series on Paramount+. So I went into this film blind.

The movie deals mainly with the backstory and origin of the Halo universe. The film does a good job explaining it and keeping it short and informative. There is only one story dealing with Masterchief.

Animation is mainly anime, there is one short feature using a blurry style form of animation. The animation style does not fit in with the rest of the film.

If you are new and clueless on the Halo franchise, this film will get you somewhat caught up.

Synopsis

Seven anime stories relate to the popular `Halo' series of computer games and the universe associated with it.

6/10

I watched this one last night on the road on PlutoTV.

This is a classic horror B-Movie. The title is self explanatory so no need to go into it.

What this film needs is a modern day remake, especially with the part when the main character can start seeing thru clothing. Censorship standards when this film was made kept it from going hardcore with nudity and other things.

It’s an interesting film and well made. It has a large cast of recognizable supporting actors. PlutoTV has a good clean copy.

Synopsis

Intent on enhancing mankind's ocular ability, the brilliant Dr. James Xavier (Ray Milland) invents a formula that allows him to see wavelengths of light outside the normal human spectrum. When his funding is suddenly threatened, Xavier tests the formula on himself despite the protests of his colleague Dr. Diane Fairfax (Diana Van der Vlis). While the formula proves initially useful in a variety of minor tasks, Xavier soon finds himself able to see things that no man was meant to see.

4/10

I watched this last night on the road on Hulu.

It’s the 4th film of the franchise. I watched the first 3 and reviewed them recently in this thread.

Not much to say about this film. It overall does not hold up to the first 3. I believe this film was supposed to be a reboot of the franchise because it gives reference to the first 3.

The best scene is the opening scene with veteran actors Dee Wallace and Gary Graham.

The Creeper debuts a new truck.

For the Militants, the two main characters are a IR BM/WW. Nothing intimate is shown.

For the Gay Agenda trackers, there is an openly, flamboyant gay WM, nothing is shown.

The movie ends for a potential sequel and starts a new plot line for future movies.

Synopsis

Chase and Laine head to the Horror Hound Festival, where Laine begins to experience unexplained premonitions and disturbing visions associated with the town's past, and in particular, local legend the Creeper. As the festival gets underway and the blood-soaked entertainment builds to a frenzy, Laine believes that something unearthly has been summoned and that for the first time in 23 years, the Creeper is back.

This was a fun movie. Nothing deep, just a good time at the movies. It also has more humor than I expected.

It's a lot of blood and some fun kills.

I think it will be a hit streaming, because a lot of people won't know the catch that the trailer reveals the spoiler.

Still remember the first time I saw this movie, I didn't even know it was a horror movie I only watched it because Justin long was in it. The good old days when I would just grab a random movie from Blockbuster.

Yeah this effectively destroyed any chance of a reboot.

But that director's story is a horror itself.
