Ice Cube - AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted (1990)
Ok, I'll have to take your word for it, but according to several internet music sources, this album was heavily bootlegged but never officially released by Columbia House.you are mistaken -
Its a debut single - sold in in stores, with radio spins / airplay - even caused a bunch of beef for 50
Dmx's first official single with Ruffhouse
May not be a popular choice but this was big when it first dropped
it might have been a NY thing - Hot 97 did give it spinsOk, I'll have to take your word for it, but according to several internet music sources, this album was heavily bootlegged but never officially released by Columbia House.
Niggas just naming everybody first single now.....
Damn, there's some heaters in here. I can't decide.
No Special Ed though? That shit was huge. If I Got It Made was his first single. Mufukas always got some information up their sleeves, lol.
LL COOL J - I NEED A BEAT [1984]
I think "how to rob" was 50s takeaway.None of those songs did what In the Club by 50 did.
The Fatboys - fatboys (1984)
Will Smith-Parents just don't understand
C.Mack-Flavor in ya(good one)
Black Rob-Whoa
2pac-Brenda's got a baby
Snoops-what's my name
Kriss Kross-Jump
Sir Mix a-lot-My Posse's on broadway(I don't know what his first one was,I think this)
Hammer-lets get it started
Vanilla Ice-Ice Ice baby
Vanilla Ice probably is #1 with Hammer being #2 in my selection.Coast to coast smash.
Ok, Olive Branch...been diggin around and Power of the Dollar would have been 50's debut cd and How to Rob would have been the debut single, however 50 got shot up before the album got released and Columbia dropped him from the label and shelved the cd. How to How to Rob was officially released as the first single...to The CD that never came out. The Cd has not been officially released to this day however it has been heavily bootlegged. With all that said, 50's first Officially released cd is Get Rich or Die Tryin and In Da Club is the first officially released debut single off of it. So I guess we both are kinda right.it might have been a NY thing - Hot 97 did give it spins

"Oh, Carolina" was a better song, IMO.Is this a joke?

No what's wrong is the fact that a lot of the artist being named in this thread was very regional as hell,Nas,Jay-z,Big Pun they had good debut singles but in other places they weren't played like that I'm sure;Jay-z said it himself that in certain parts of the south he didn't get many sales so that's how Big Pimpin came about. There's a lot of wrong in this post.
ANOTHER song that they beat into the group.
You all may not fuck with these networks, but around the time Titanic dropped, Celine Dion released 'My Heart Will Go On'. I hate Celine and that song to this day.
