Drake’s career and reputation suffered somewhat in 2024, as he decidedly lost a beef between himself and Kendrick Lamar. The latter musician’s “Not Like Us” was the biggest hit between the few barbs that the two hip-hop powerhouses traded at one another. Months after it was declared the final blow, the tune was also awarded both Record and Song of the Year at the Grammys, cementing Lamar's triumph.
Drake is looking to move past this moment with a new album titled
Some Sexy Songs 4 U. The full-length sees him teaming up with labelmate PartyNextDoor for what is expected to be a collection of R&B-leaning tunes, many of which will likely become hits in America.
Just days before that project arrives, Drake collects a new hit on a ranking he has never conquered before. Despite being one of the most successful musicians in American history across almost every single Billboard chart he’s ever reached, the rapper still has room to grow, and apparently to collect debut champions.
Drake and his longtime friend and collaborator Lil Wayne earn their first No. 1 singles on the TikTok Billboard Top 50. Both artists have landed on the list of the biggest tracks on TikTok before, and they’ve come close to securing the top spot, but they had to wait a while and jointly score a ruler together.
“She Will” is the track that finally brings Wayne and Drake to No. 1 on the TikTok Billboard Top 50. The song debuted at No. 4 just last week, and in only a matter of days, it quickly became the most popular tune on the social media platform, which the music industry has warmly embraced in the past several years as a way for both new artists and older tracks to reach a massive audience.
Drake has snagged five top 10 hits on the TikTok Billboard Top 50 throughout his career. Two of those missed out on becoming his first No. 1 by just one space, as both “You My Everything” with Sexyy Red and “IDGAF” with Yeat stalled at No. 2.
Wayne recently doubled his total number of top 10s on the TikTok-focused chart. Before “She Will” arrived, he’d joined Tyler the Creator, Glorilla, and Sexyy Red with “Sticky,” which climbed as high as No. 9.
“She Will” is picking up steam on TikTok, but fans of both musicians, as well as many of those who have been following the hip-hop genre for the past decade or so, already know the tune. The cut served as a single from Wayne’s
Tha Carter IV, and both were released in 2011. “She Will” was a huge hit during its time, as it peaked at No. 3 on the Hot 100. The cut performed even better on a number of Billboard's rap and hip-hop tallies, and it even managed to reach No. 1 on some of them.
