NBA Discussion: If Pippen had reached the FINALS OR WON a championship when Jordan retired in 93/94? UPDATE: NO BULL TOUR??

A better question is do you think that Bulls team without Jordan would have won if they had Harper and Rodman, like Jordan did when he came back and won.

For years people have been saying what a piece of shit Jordan was/is but folks continued to kiss his ass.

The truth about your legacy will always rise to the surface.

Betcha there won’t be no bash Lebron tour in 20 years.

jordan won every nba finals mvp and it wasn't even close to thinking otherwise that anybody else deserved it more on his championship teams so jordan legacy wouldn't have been questioned... as far as pip if he goes to the finals and wins, it places him more than juss a sidekick..most people say the only reason he got top 50 regards cause he was jordan teammate samething with the olympics..he'd finally got a lil more respect.. either way he still a champ he's a hall of famer

Good question-- Jordan's legacy would be diminished in a major way because the value around him would be much more evident.

I suspect he'd have tried to find another team, also. Blue & orange, most likely.
WOW this thread is 3 pages and 8 YEARS next week and this is how many people actually answered the question

:smh::smh::smh::smh::smh::smh:

the OP question:

My question is this...

IF Scotty and the Bulls would have went to at FINALS...

WIN OR LOSE...

How would have that changed not only the Pippen Legacy put the Jordan legacy?

And consequently the entire NBA?

Would the Bulls have STILL been so eager to trade him to Phoenix?

the 3rd speculative answer to the actual question in 8 years...

As tallblack said jordans legacy at that point was solidfied BUT if the bulls won a chip in his break years...and pippin was MVP??? well that would throw a monkey wrench in future GOAT talk.

Honestly if you play the scenario out then it would probably ruin the 2nd threepeat because now pippin doesnt have to play the sidekick anymore...he'd have more rings than jordan...hell the whole team would and they certainly wouldnt put up with his bullshit when he comes back. So maybe they get only 5 rings instead of six(??)

In any case whether they have 3 more or just one more after MJ's return...Pippin would always have one more ring on that same team. And any future discussions of whos the GOAT would HAVE TO INCLUDE HIM. Just for the rings alone. Its a big reason why no one talks about tim duncan in the GOAT convo...he has less rings than MJ same with Kobe...But Pippin would always have ONE MORE...

Which automatically bumps Lebron down the list in the future debates.

One big altered future would be theres no LAST DANCE documentary at least not one produced by jordan as he cant account for the year they won without him. Maybe its a 30 for 30 documentary but MJs participation would be minimal.

No...Ron Harper was a shell of himself once the injuries started to take over

True he wasn't that number one scoring option who could play 35 minutes a game, but he still could play, albeit for a solid 20 minutes and his defense and rebounding for a guard was better than most. But playing on such a deep and talented team allowed him to pick and choose his moments, and in my opinion having Harper and Rodman may have been enough to get the Bulls in the finals even without Jordan.

Ok...enough listening to him yelling. :smh:

Pippen calling himself the GOAT..ive heard everything now. I can understand him calling Magic better than LBJ and Jordan but for me, Jordan and Lebron do it on both ends. Offense and Defense. I can't call anyone the goat if you dont excel playing both. If you want to tell me Scottie Pippen is the greatest defensive player (that is not a Center) of all time, then we can have that discussion, but saying he's the GOAT. Come on man...

I know for sure they dont get there in 98 without Jordan Vs. Indiana.

Against the Magic??? I don't know..I think the Magic were kinda in there own head a little in 96. They definitely don't sweep them. You remove a lot of scoring with MJ out. I think it goes 6 or 7 games. I'm not sure who would win that one because the Magic weren't a terrible team but MJ was so embarassed the previous year that he was not going to let them win that series..game 3 of that series, MJ was on a mission. The Bulls could pull it out, but it would be close.
