Seeing all the stories about the celebs getting got over the years ... all I can think if I were a celeb is to upgrade / maintain a great security system, and when touring / on roadtrips as an entertainer or rockstar / athlete ... encourage your friends OR family to stay at your place to make it look occupied.
Even more so for the TV and movie actors who may be away from home for months at a time shooting on location elsewhere.
Or as my dad would say - "Get some of those home security signs for your property (even if they're fake and you don't have it) ... have some lights on timers if you're place is easy to observe from the front street, leave the radio on when you're away from home, etc." (He lives in an old property)
In my opinion, most of these are likely inside jobs.
