100% agree with all of this.

What’s even worse when it comes to Hammer is he was shit on for endorsing fast food, British Knights, soda, etc. but no one had an issue when rappers started endorsing St. Ides for a check which was aimed at people who were well below legal drinking age (I'm speaking on this via personal experiences) or advertising other companies and products for free (various blunt companies, Timberland, Nike, Hilfiger, Nike, Polo, etc.

The reality is the blowback was only the result of hate when they themselves weren't able to make that kind of money.

The saddest thing is even in his endorsements he always had a respectable presentation which was needed for us (and sorely missing now) which was received negatively while everyone else was pushing weed, malt liquor, straight liquor and clothing which we honestly couldn't afford and were praised for it.

but he did. how does it affect you that a rapper made a decision you didn't like because it didn't agree with YOUR party choice. u mad bro?

rappers talk about drugs, violence, and doing nigga shit and you mad about this. Bobby schmurda jumping on tables in front of music execs just for the opportunity to degrade the black community but this is the point of sellout? u niggas sound ridiculous.

Don’t forget they lust over whorish women, but complain about how the mindset affects the women of today. In addition, the same cats, bitch about how young black males having no guidance and the results this bring, but when folks talk about being a step-father the same cats view it as beneath their “so called” morality or logic.

^^^^ truth.

And THAT Nelly sh*t?

Ain't this.

It was ignorant in a sense but hip hop was trying to protect itself from the inevitable commercialization of the culture.

And unjustly made Hammer the face.

But in real time those rappers really were trying to keep it "pure" not understanding it was inevitable and instead of wrongly blaming Hammer we should have been investing in our own lawyers agents and companies to capitalize on our own music and culture

We all owe Hammer an apology

Nelly supporting a flagrant neo nazi project 2025 leader of a revolt on the capital.

That ain't the same

That's coon sh*t and traitorous

Wrong the commercialization of hip hop was the beginning of the end. Just like with Jazz white people take over and the creativity and culture falls away. There is no good in the commercialization of art. If you are using art to sell products you are lying. Look what happened to our hip hop battle/beef culture. The streaming platforms monetized it and destroyed it. The death of Tupac and Biggie should of been the first wake up call. We let these hip hop blogs news blow up a beef to sell magazines and records. The escalation caused the deaths of two of the greatest hip hop artists of our generation. Drake and Kendrick just as bad. They marginilized both of those artist. They put them in a box where their entire career is defined by this 2 or 3 song battle. These are artists with 100's of songs with classic albums. But Kendrick get's 5 grammy's for one song. None for his other work which was far more significant to hip hop. This whole shit is wack. I hope the new generation comes up with something totally different.

There is no longer underground hip hop. Before there was commercial and underground. Artists dropped mix tapes knowing the majority of fans wouldn't hear it but they would buzz with the people that mattered. Today there is none of that. Everything is instantly streamed and monetized.

Real hip hop doesn't come from TV ads or Superbowl performances or streaming platforms. We been fed processed food our whole life and now we think it's real. Read the label - GZA

You missed my point. Let's remove Trump from the equation for a sec. Insert a huge tranny/cross dressing event. Is this one "lick" worth tarnishing your brand from future events. That's all I'm saying.

What you mean wrong?

I didn't say commercialization was good.

It was inevitable.

And it was.

I hear you bruh...I really do. However, I also know that shit has touch change, change is painful and uncertain, but necessary. In the beautiful words of the great 20th Century group, The Last Poets...this line from their prolific track "******* Are Scared of Revolution"

...But I'm a lover too, yes I'm a lover too
I love *******, I love *******, I love *******
Because ******* are me, and I should only love that which is me
I love to see ******* go through changes, love to see ******* act
Love to see ******* make them plays and shoot the shit
But there is one thing about ******* I do not love
******* are scared of revolution

if the artist thinks so, that's his decision. why get mad about it? if he loses people, he loses people. why you in your feelings about his business decision?

btw, since you support transgender rights, I assume you would be one of those people that wouldn't mind.
