New Music: Drake: Diplomatic Immunity

how?
dude that wrote for Ice at the time was decent lyrically... Ice was dead after that single and movie literally touring for years on a single- thats it.

Expecting dope lyrics from Hammer would be like expecting lyricism from Luke... o_O
Hammer has a catalog, toured on it, and built a complete show.
I just Googled Vanilla Ice (damn) He has 11 albums. We don't like his catalog and probably never will, but he is still touring and making music. Plus when it said comparable acts...Guess who name Popped up? Stanley Kirk Burrell....lmao!

so lyricist a legitimate song credit now?

but you know something?

salute to Aubrey AND Kanye, you know why?

They ALWAYS make sure any and all contributors get the proper credit, recognition and compensation

we ALL know it was and still not like that in the entertainment industry.

At least they got honor on that level.

it's funny , 1 project drake has a co writer for rap songs but prior if you're reading this, he's been writng his own raps and writing hit records for r&b artists. i'm single , the lil wayne song was an unfinished song that lil wayne used. the 1st verse is drake's verse. wayne performed one drake verses at the mtv video awards prior to drake blowing up. do yall give the same side eye at wayne? just thinking out loud.

on the rap song, that all drake writing. and the producers names are there for created the production.

No different then Prodigy (who started off in a ballet studio) or Tupac (who started off doing plays).
irrelevant...
Drake's "cousin" is in this thread saying its all an act...

while no ever one associated with Pac or Prodigy defended their credibility or rhymes by saying:
"xxx is not a MC of course, he never said he was one. He is a rapper/actor/entertainer..."
or
"Writers have jobs... Artists get paid to perform those songs... like how actors/actresses get paid to play a role."

Hip hop is all acting. All hip hop artists are actors. Nobody is different than anyone else when it comes to that. Ghostwriters have been apart of hip hop since it first started. Some people just like to hate on rappers for having ghostwriters but little that they know is it's been apart of the game since the beginning of it.

This.....The real goons arent in front of the camera.

Rap from 2009 - Present = WWE

Lil Wayne has been dogged with ghost writer stories for years. What you just described is par for the course.

So a person's bubblegum past only matters if they dont write their rhymes?

makes sense...
so the 2nd hottest rapper today - is really an ex/current actor portraying an MC...

That’s the game now. Hot producer(s); hot beats; all you need to get your 15 in the rap game.

Shit, at least Drake CAN spit; when he’s not signing on that RZA/Triumph Intro “Niggas is turning rap into R&B, Rap and Bullshit” vibe; buddy can flow.

Rick Ross, while he was rapping about being a boss and moving bricks of cocaine, was CONFIRMED to be a former CO; yet he stayed on many folks top 3 lists for several years and sold out arenas.

Game done changed.....
