Young M.A has opened up about her recent hospitalization following a viral video that sparked worries about her health.
Fans showed their concern for the Brooklyn rapper based on her appearance and demeanor in a recent clip of her sitting in a barbershop. In a message on Wednesday (March 15), Young M.A revealed she was recently treated in hospital for a number of conditions and is currently recovering.
“As many of my supporters know I’ve been dealing with various personal health issues the last few years,” she wrote on Instagram. “I recently was hospitalized and was successfully treated for several conditions. I’m doing better now, will take some time but I’m on the road to recovery and look forward to the future.”
She added: “I’m in good spirits and everything will be explained in the MUSIC! Plus documentary.. Love y’all MAB! Don’t worry I’m good! Bless up.”
Celebrity barber and Wild ‘N Out star Aaron “Fats Da Barber” Turk, who posted the aforementioned video of Young M.A getting a haircut earlier this week, previously took to his Instagram Stories to respond to those criticizing him for sharing the clip.
“Y’all got so much to say as if I’m trying to embarrass my dawg she reposted my video if she didn’t want me to record she would have told me,” he said. “Y’all don’t know our bond nor our friendship what y’all need to do is just send your prayers for her and that’s that.
“She didn’t have a haircut in a month and she wanted me to bring her haircut back to life which I did!!! thank you sis for coming and rocking with me like always love ya.”
Young M.A added at the time: “We blessed don’t let that get to you blooda…and I told you it’s was like 4 months.”
M.A released her last album Off the Yak in May 2021 with features from Fivio Foreign, Rubi Rose, WAP5TAR and Max YB.
She most recently collaborated with WAP5TAR on a song called “Pick a Side” in October 2022.

In a post shared on her Instagram Stories, Young M.A has offered fans an update on her health after she revealed last she was hospitalized for various issues.
Had a buddy of mine who was a kool kat, always dressed sharp, and was a lady's man, but every time he took a pic, I noticed his eyes were yellow. Well, years later he died, and found out he was suffering from jaundice due to sickle cell anemia. Hope this is not the case with her, because it is such a terrible disease especially when it starts attacking your organs.
