Every time I'm out and about around my way I pay attention to what people from 16-35 years of age bump in their whips and it is the same type of rap music. I rarely hear the masses of that age group bumping movement music. I don't even hear quality r&b songs that express love and positive vibes from chicks cars either, mostly ratchet mess music.
I may be in the minority on this topic but IMO I feel you can through music measure the consciousness of the people by what they consume musically. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I dig aggressive/ratchet/materialistic tunes from time to time. However it seems to be all I ever hear from mentioned age group.

I understand exactly what ur saying!! These young Kats out here in the Midwest get down with the same tunes!! I wonder at times if they listen to different sounds or are they locked in on the same music over and over!! When my kids would ride with me, I tried to play all flows of music. Just so they knew some of the best music is from groups that never get any air play!! Now with this internet they can listen to every level of hip-hop.. However, they don't.. Why, I have no idea!!!

I have been searching for this the past 10 -15 years. I did not know what to call it but Movememt music is the perfect name for it. I have been looking for it from the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Jay Electronica, JAY-Z last five years, The Roots, Little Brother, J.Cole and Joey Badass. The only females I can think of that tried was Badu and Beyoncé, Let me know who I am missing
