The problem is that when it first aired, streaming services was new, now company has some form of streaming platforms, and back then Netflix could low-ball a struggling up and coming writer and actors to be featured on the show, now with so many platforms looking for content, what would have been a 45 minute episode can be flashed out into a mini series, paying the writer and actors seven times more than they were making from the O.G. Black Mirror.

we are in agreement. I'm confused about the so called different versions you mentioned. We saw the hat in the beginning before meeting Verity. When the argument happened, Verity was playing with the necklace which implied it was a spur of the moment gaslight. I'm not understanding how the different versions are supposed to work.
It's just a little mindfuck. Nothing major. Doesn't change anything. just makes the viewer think about what they initially saw.
Just looked it up. this reddit seems to believe they shot two different versions, which makes sense.
