U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy joined Mayor Eric Adams for a ride on the B train during his visit to New York City—but he didn’t hold back on his criticisms.
Duffy called the subway system unsafe and compared it to a homeless shelter, saying the federal government won’t approve more funding until it's cleaned up.
He also slammed the city’s current congestion pricing plan. The MTA and Governor Kathy Hochul were quick to push back.
