That's not happening now. Those players can now go get NIL money right away and transfer somewhere that will start them.

They just had the number two class
How is that not happening now?
It doesn't matter how good your class is. You can even have the number 1 class.
What Saban did is have the number 1 class wait on the bench behind the number 1 class from the year before who was waiting on his bench behind the number 1 class two years before.
What happens now is you get the number 1 class and lose all of the players that are getting offered more NIL money or that you didn't play. So the number 1 class you get this year has to fill in the gaps from the number 1 class from last year.
So yes, you have good players but you don't have a three deep depth chart of number 1 recruits. And you have to cater to the players you have to keep them from being poached by someone offering them more NIL money or playing time.
You no longer are heads and shoulders ahead of everyone else roster wise, so every season is a struggle now.

Saban is just a cry baby. Now that the playing field is starting to level out, it's making it harder for him to keep and get top caliber players.

These old school colleges coaches aint ready to deal with these youngstas with NIL deals and these transfer portals. They use to hard nose coaching. These soft ass youngstas gonna be like "you yelling at me too much and I make more than you! I'm going some where else, where's the transfer portal. I'm out!"

You know what's funny? They used to say hardnosed college coaches wouldn't work in the NFL, because you can't yell at grown men making money. Now, it looks like that's going to be the case in college football now.
