Man I wish he was doing this in the beginning... Westbrook is putting up MVP numbers

They interviewed Jaylen Brown last night & he said they were too focused on containing Harden last night & forgot about Westbrook.

This is what teams have been doing more, trying to lock down Harden and hoping Westbrook will play erratic. The problem is that Westbrook is taking the rock in the paint since small ball draws the big man out to the perimeter. I gotta give credit to Russ for just attacking the paint as soon as an extra defender goes to Harden.

And what's crazy is D'Antoni has said that he didn't have to tell Westbrook to do this... he just made the adjustments on his own... he saw the lane wide open, said FUCK IT, and started attacking the basket.

Last night or maybe another game a fan was fuckin with him, telling him to take more 3s and Westbrook responded "why... I'm getting layups" :dunno:

He take 2 or 3 from distance a game, I can live with that... he'll hit one and the next time he get it there the defender will have to come out to challenge then Westbrook goes right by him to the basket for an easy bucket, an AND 1, free throws or assist to an open teammate.

This is what I've always envisioned this offense to be.... and it's why Harden stands waaaaay out by half court when he don't have the ball... more space and driving lanes... you can't guard both of them cats without greatly altering your defense, and then that shit is out the window if we hitting 3s. The bench played like shit last night... imagine if they were on... Westbrook might have had 60

Bro Westbrook is going to be a problem in the playoffs because of this style of offense. One of the biggest reasons he's struggled in the past playoffs is because teams stack the paint with a big & help defender against him. You can't do that with this team when you have Harden & 3 other 3 point shooters on the floor at all times that pulls defenders from the paint

The Celtics did something that was effective though and you can plan on seeing it in the playoffs... they put their help defenders on the elbows of the free throw lines... kinda looked like a box and one zone defense... did it so they could take away the driving lanes and play the passing lanes better... it looks like illegal defense (is that even a thing anymore?) but once you start hitting shots that shit goes away... plus you can always drive opposite of the helpers and get the same results if you take the corner shooter and put him weak side... then if you drive baseline, the weak side corner dives to the basket right behind the help defender coming from the opposite side... maybe a flare or pin down screen coming from the wing gets you an open look.... lots of counters

This offense has options, and like I say lord forbid anybody gets hot... it's a wrap

:eek2:You didn't like him in Houston?
Only thing Pat Bev was good for is bothering people and getting them out their games IF they allowed it.

I remember once he was up to his shenanigans against Steph and he just looked at him and laughed right in his face. Westbrook said it best, he got y'all fooled, running around ain't doing SHIT

They'll be easier to defend in the playoffs, because a team can game plan for them

And we can gameplan for their gameplan :dunno:

Game plan with Tyson Chandler as as the only big :hmm:

I'd go zone against Houston and make Harden, PJ, Covington and Russ win it from three.

Especially since Harden has been known to choke when it counts.

Well, let's see who takes your advice and how that works. I'll just say that I'd absolutely LOVE a team to play zone against us all game...

And the part bolded is funny...
THE ROCKETS choked when it counted. This isn't all on Harden. Yes he's had bad games in the playoffs but his playoff averages are about the same as regular season averages. Harden didn't miss 27 straight 3s against the Warriors... the Rockets did...

But I digress... I really don't feel like this argument today
