Like,I keep saying the reason;why the MVP discussion is always a cluster fuck is because there's no criteria for it.

1. Does it go to the player on the best team.

2. Does it go to the player that's been dominate all season.

3. Does it go to the player that has a triple double at the end of the season.

4.Does it go to the player whose scoring average leads the league or at least top 5 on a playoff team.

5. Does it go to the player when the player is injured the team plays bad without him and when that player comes back the team is elite again.

6. Does head-to-head against other MVP candidates play a factor.

For the most part,every other category has some type of criteria except for the MVP award.Until,the NBA has a criteria this will continue to happen.

I think a lot of people want to see an offensive player of year separate from the MVP award. Two way players need more recognition imo. But the NBA doesn’t give a shit about 2 way players cuz they don’t give a shit about defense. No player should win MVP if you gotta either:

-Hide them on defense.

-They play lackadaisical defense to preserve their energy for offense.

I’ve never seen a player win MVP for ONLY playing defense so it makes zero sense for a player to win ONLY playing offense. Rant over for the rest of the season and beyond
