I am not. Like I said earlier a lot of people, including me do not like those two teams.
I wouldn’t touch the Detroit Pistons with a 10 foot pole right now. This is probably a blessing for him.

Parody is nice but casual fans love storylines and need someone to love and someone to hate....A LOT. It would have been there if Boston played Denver since Jokic is a rising star. I don't think Joker or Luka has the charm of a Steph or Lebron. But Ant-man, SGA, Boston duo, Victor, Ja., Haliburton.....Murray. Its there .

LeBron going out early is the only reason. Joker, Steph, Ant, don't draw engagement to the league outside of their respective fanbases. None of those guys is even thought of right now. Meanwhile LeBron is still the most talked about and covered player this week (see Lakers coaching hire this week). All the trolling for 2 decades made the game too dependent on the GOAT. It can't thrive without him.
LBJ has owned the storyline of the NBA his whole career but he got another year or 2. its time for the next generation now and the nba will be fine when he retires. Lebron wanna make a deep playoff run the next 2 years he better take a pay cut and hop on one of these young teams
None of the young players have storylines or legacies that people care about. LeBron is already the GOAT he doesn't need a deep playoff run. For what?
I know it's hard to accept guys but championships and the playoffs don't mean what they used to. Mike and Kobe lied about their importance to individual players. Now that Mike is gone and Kobe is dead, we don't have to keep the lies going. No one in this thread believes Jaylen Brown is now the leagues best player or even cares what he's doing this offseason, and he just won Finals MVP. LeBron will be the main headline til he retires, and even then he will still be cross promoted thru Bronny. The NBA isn't fine now when he's not playing in a playoff, when he stops for good the game and sports media are really gonna be fucked. No one playing today can carry the league like Bron and fill his void.
There's a clear generational divide right now.
Old heads and the young people that look up to them, promote "pay cuts" and the idea that winning a championship for your white owner is the highest level of success.
Young people argue that the real championships are super max contracts and making 50 mill a year to play ball. Like most players in the 70s and 80s they just want to win ONE to experience it, but are driven more by the wealth and opportunities at their disposal then the need for multiple championships. None of them promote "pay cuts" or dry hate on others salaries.
That's a ridiculously odd take. Durant was the dominant player in two finals wins, full stop. He has was a great defender and offensive juggernaut spanning three runs to the finals.
Talk about downplaying Durant. Luka is completely one dimensional and he is mentally unstable to this point in his career. He was hurt, but his lack of effort in this series was just disrespectful.
He won't ever be Durant.
Dirk is so over valued off one ring. He was a monster that year, taking down some heavyweight teams (Bron, Duncan and Kobe), but he has never had a 3 year peak like Durant had in Golden State.
