That whole Celtics team is coasting off that one ring from 20 years ago. Just look at the way Paul Pierce and KG be talking about that team. They act like they won multiple titles at that time.
Yeah. It's a pain in the ass hearing them talk. :smh:

I'm not gone say he was banging the help, but it'd be crazy if he got shit canned just because Giannis didn't like him
That's where I'm going with this is the fact giannis got him fired. There's clips with the players arguing with the coach from frustrations.

Something that has guided every decision Horst and the Bucks have made since Antetokounmpo entered his prime.

"If you're being honest," Horst said then, "with Giannis, you're kind of always on the clock."

That team already had an identity. Griffin's job was to reinvigorate it.

When Holiday was traded, everything changed. The Bucks had to forge a new identity on offense and defense. They had to figure out how to mesh the skill sets of Antetokounmpo and Lillard, both of whom are accustomed to having the ball the majority of the time, had to adjust from a relatively low-usage guard in Holiday to a high-usage one in Lillard. They had to build a defense without one of the best front-line defenders in basketball.

And almost immediately, tensions emerged. Top assistant Terry Stotts, who'd been hired by the front office to help guide Griffin during his first year on the bench, abruptly quit five days before the start of the season and two days after a post-practice argument with Griffin, according to team sources. Eleven days later, Milwaukee got lit up by Atlanta at home in just its second game of the season. Eight Hawks scored in double figures, and the team shot 50% from the field.

After the game, Antetokounmpo mapped out his frustrations with the team's scheme on a giant whiteboard that covers nearly an entire wall inside the Bucks locker room.

Antetokounmpo grabbed a marker and began diagramming plays to Bucks assistant coach Josh Oppenheimer, growing more animated and intense as he mapped out the team's spacing and actions, revealing in real time what he felt went wrong and where they needed to be on the floor. He eventually grabbed his brother Thanasis and forward Bobby Portis to join him.

His frustration was evident.

Embiid has never played this well in the regular season. Nurse makes a huge difference. The biggest thing with Embiid no one is talking about is he has cut down his turnovers while increasing his assist total.

Yes, he's making quicker decisions too being a smart passer. I believe embiid learned how to pass the ball better watching harden do it. After that ass whooping he gave the spurs, he told former sixers coach Brett brown that he's passing the ball now.

Right. I also think he's watching how Joker does it and how it benefits the team. He's taking less 3's as well. It's helped his game so much. Nurse makes a difference cause guys are moving now without the ball.

You love to see it.

So, we should be extremely confident going into the playoffs to believe this team is for real and could be dangerous and make a lot of noise which shouldn't be another meltdown like it was last year because the bench is better as well. They can still make a move during the deadline or buyout market.

It's a better team coached by a better man for sure.

One-time champions since 1984:
  • The 04 Pistons
  • The 06 Heat
  • The 08 Celtics
  • The 11 Mavericks
  • The 16 Cavs
  • The 19 Raptors
  • The 21 Bucks
Of those, I think the 04 Pistons and the 08 Celtics were special teams. They were every bit as good as the Lakers team that won two titles after them, the second being decided by a Game 7.

They had a lot of health issues as an aging team-- Their repeat refrain (or excuse) was that they never lost a series where all their best players were healthy. (That's what the Warriors were saying until that went up in smoke last season.)

IMO, KG & Pierce are justified in talking about that team the way that they do.

Pistons...I agree but I disagree about the Celtics...I'll take the Bucks over the Celtics in that time span..
