The skills competition had all stars and the kid they want to be the next face. 3 point contest had all stars, and a superstar defending his title. Dunk contest had all stars and the current highest paid player in the league. And Steph did the league a solid and promoted the WNBA. Wtf are these people talking about?

The tropes Silver promoted in that write up go back to the late 70s. There is a Sports Illustrated article from 1979 with white fans complaining about how much money the Black American players made, and cried that they were all criminals high on drugs who don't know the "fundamentals". 40+ years later, white supremacy uses the same talking points and playbook.
Pandering to white resentment over the lack of white American stars in the game has been going on ever since the ABA and NBA merged and forced lesser talented white players out. They tried to do a Euro invasion in the 90s with Dino Radja, Toni Kukoc, and Detlef Schrempf, but those guys weren't superstars or draws and fizzled out. Now like you said, we got a handful of foreign superstars that they are overpromoting and giving Michael Jordan type whistles too, but none are draws and the bulk of the talent on rosters is still Black American. The greatest players of all time with the greatest legacies are mainly Black Americans. Silver (and the owners) want to globalize the game for bigger profits, so that's why they denigrate the American players and try to steer fans to see the foreigners as "better", he wants that foreign talent number to go from 30% to 60%. Fans go along with it cuz 95% of the ones in the stands are white and they identify with Euro immigrants more than Black Americans and see foreign melenated immigrants as more docile (ex: Embiid, Giannis, etc play up the "jolly" immigrant role where they dumb themselves down to come across as non threatening), then you got the Black American coon fans who are dickriders of the past that don't care about our future in this game so they go along with it too. It's really no different than Hollywood using foreigners to push out Black American actors under the false pretense that they are "harder working" and "more classically trained". Silver is easily the worst commish in sports.
That Chris Brown shit is simple. It don't got nothing to do with any of the minor bullshit he been involved with the last decade. He got into it with a Roc Nation artist (Rihanna) and they are continuing to make life difficult for him within the industry. That's why other celebs who done beat up women and did other offensive shit still participate in All Star. It's not the act, it's the person it happened to.
