what the hell happened...Tyrese glitched in the middle of his comments....he was talking about tobias and just stopped cold.... did someone wave him off in the background or did he just flatline???

You saying AD = Ice Cube ???

He's saying he's not Black American, even though he's spent well over a decade lying and saying he was to fit in with others on this board. Who still references Ruthless Records in 2024? Senior citizens.

You can't trust people consumed by pornography, it's a seedy business filled with con men and liars.

Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray didn't trend at all yesterday and got very little discussion in this thread after their series win. Bronny James did trend all day yesterday and got more coverage than both of them did. :roflmao:

Ironically, yesterday wouldve been Gigi's birthday and not a single Kobe Stan mentioned it. Kobe didn't work hard to make his kids household names with the public. He was Gen X, so all the promo went to him. Sad.

10 takeaways from tonight in the NBA:

1) MitchRob (7 rebounds, 5 stocks) is back after missing Game 4 with a sprained ankle. Was spotted leaving the last two games in a walking boot. Clearly precautionary. Told myself years ago to stop overreacting to those things but I’m still not there yet. Played some elite (vengeful) defense on Embiid but all anyone gonna remember is his foul on Tyrese Maxey, which turned into a 4-point play. Good to see him get up to 25 minutes.

“I’ll just take it like a man. I fucked up. I mean, shit — gotta be better next game.” - Mitchell Robinson on the foul

2) Another 40-piece for Jalen Brunson (47 points, 10 assists, 51 minutes). If the Knicks had held onto the win in regulation, we’d still be singing songs of praise but that OT was such a brutal watch. Don’t be fooled by the nine points he scored. DUDE HAD AN 83.3% USAGE RATE. Refreshed the page a few times to make sure it wasn’t buggin’ even though it checks out. Can’t really remember seeing him give it up. Oh wait, there was one time. He changed his mind mid-air and tried passing to Hartenstein, leading to the biggest turnover of the game.

Josh Hart played all 53:00.

“We can’t hang our heads, we gotta come back stronger and be ready to go” - Jalen Brunson

3) Tyrese Maxey with the shot of his life, the quarter of his life, and the game of his life.

Maxey in the fourth:
17 PTS
6-7 FG
4-4 3P
Logo shot to force OT with 8.1 seconds left.

Scroll down the timeline ASAP if you haven’t seen it yet. Will never get why these coaches don’t foul. Favorite part of it all was seeing how hyped he was at the end. I was ready to run through my drywall (I’m fragile). He’s averaging 32.4 points on 62.0 TS% in this series. Pretty wild considering New York’s been a top-10 defense this season.

Shoutout to Tobias Harris (19 points, 80.0 TS%, 8 rebounds) by the way. He was seconds away from this being his last game in a Sixers uniform. Looked like he wanted to go out the right way.

Philly was really down 96-90 with 28 seconds left?

“We could have. I’ll leave it at that.” - Thibs on not fouling

4) Not gonna lie, the Embiid memes were so close to being sent. With the way his fourth quarters have gone and how this one went (2 points, 1-4 FG, 4 turnovers). Next thing you know, his defensive performance in OT helps save their season. Only felt right to pull back. I mean, he was out there diving on the floor with one knee. Ends up with his first career playoff trip-dub (19 rebounds, 16 points, 10 assists). Still though, nine turnovers in an elimination game is a big no-no. Half of them were egregious.

Oh wow. Just saw that Nurse injured his finger and couldn’t draw up plays in the second half because of his grip. It’s been a rough few days for head coaches.

Sixers beat the Knicks 112-106. First home loss for New York when Anunoby and Brunson play.

“I love it. If I gotta be the punching bag and hear a lot of ‘F Embiid,’ that’s okay. I love it... It usually gets me going in those situations because you want to put yourself in those situations & kind of shut them up.” - Joel Embiid on the MSG crowd

5) Jarrett Allen being out was a pretty big surprise. Missed the game with a bruised rib. Guys play through sh*t all the time in the playoffs. Especially when the series is tied so you gotta think that he’s really going through it. Been their most consistent player this postseason.

“I honestly can’t give you that answer. We’ll have to see how he is. I don’t know if it’s the whole series or if he’s game to game.“- J.B. Bickerstaff on Allen’s status going forward

6) Without Jarrett Allen, Cavs went small. They started Okoro in his place with Mobley moving to center. The move instantly paid off. Darius Garland with more spacing was a totally different player. Who woulda thought? Scored 17 of his 23 points in the first quarter and Donovan Mitchell was loving it. Was waving towels and going crazy after every Garland bucket.

Other big change was removing Georges Niang from the rotation. He was averaging just 3.5 ppg in these playoffs. Marcus Morris Sr. was who replaced him and I don’t think anything’s changing moving forward. Mook (12 points, 4-9 FG) was +8 in his 26 minutes. They probably lose this game without him as crazy as that sounds. They also lose this game without that ridiculous Evan Mobley block with six seconds left. Think I’ve watched the play about 20 times already. More so to figure out what Franz was thinking.

“Shoot. Shoot. Shoot. I don’t care. Shoot the ball and go out swinging.” - Donovan Mitchell on Darius Garland being aggressive

“In the summertime, I work my ass off for times like this… I put a lot of time into my body and my mental for situations like this.” - Marcus Morris on his number getting called

7) Franz Wagner (14 points, 1-6 3PT, -10) wasn’t up for an encore following that career game on Saturday. Already brought up how this duo is cool with deferring but not like this. What makes it worse for me is that Paolo Banchero (39 points, 8 rebounds, 70.0 TS%) was wide open on the wing when Franz decided to go at Mobley for the game-tying layup. Paolo was on one all night. He was 4-7 from 3, coulda won the game had Franz passed to him and we’re going at Mobley? Sorry, just realized I essentially wrote the same thing twice but whatever, it was that bad. Gary Harris left this one with a right hamstring strain.

“The same thing you saw when we were trying to get in to the playoffs. Guys understand exactly the magnitude of the games. How we have to fight. How we have to make sure we take care of home.” - Jamahl Mosley on how he believes his team will respond to facing elimination

Cavs beat the Magic 104-103. Game 6 is on Friday.

8) As expected, Bucks were without Giannis and Dame. Doc said that Giannis was able to do some work but Lillard did nothing.

"I think they're very, very, very close." - Doc on the potential timeline for Giannis and Dame for Game 6

I don't know about you but very, very, very close seems like a bit of a stretch when you're telling us that Dame has done nothing. Think he's referring more to Giannis.

9) All Bobby Portis had to do was keep his hands to himself and the rest would take care of itself.

29 Points (playoff career-high)
10 Rebounds
1 Steal
58% FG
33% 3PT
+30

Said he's already ready for those "Bob-by sucks" chants in Indy.

Lot of guys stepped up but most notably Patrick Beverley (13 points, 12 assists, +36) and Malik Beasley (18 points, 4-6 3PT).

"Just let my teammates know that you know, my bad and I apologize for letting the team down... I'm gonna come out tonight and play as hard as I could." - Bobby Portis on the Game 4 scuffle

10) Things started out OK for the Pacers. They survived the initial Middleton Haymaker, who scored 10 of the first 14 Bucks points. They shot 7-13 (53.8%) from 3 after one. Things then fell apart...

They combined for 36 points over the next two quarters, shooting 2-13 (15.4%) from 3. All while allowing the Bucks to score 64. That was the game. Pascal Siakam is averaging 14.0 points on 43.1 TS% over these last three games after averaging 36.5 points in Games 1 and 2.

Bucks beat the Pacers 115-92. Game 6 is on Thursday.

“They controlled the pace tonight. Hell of a game for a lot of those guys tonight.” - Tyrese Haliburton
