I know its a small sample size but Udoka got these boys playing like a playoff team. Dude said in his introductory press conference you gotta earn your minutes & you better play defense. Man this team gets after it defensively. Also I know we've clowned Dillon Brooks for trolling Lebron but now you see why Memphis is ass right now even without Ja. Dillon covers up so much for this team defensively. Watching him up close shows why Memphis won so many games with him. He can guard 1 through 4.

Man I was pressed about that Brooks contract but I see what this dude does night in night out... he's been playing really good ball... knock down his 3s, by all accounts a good leader in the locker room, sets a tone defensively, and him guarding Zion in the 4th quarter with 5 fouls was BIG the other night...

But the person I'm most happy for is Sengun... Silas used to dog him out, completely misusing him... then Udoka came in and almost brought Lopez with him but that fell thru.... and thru all that adversity that kid going out there and is BALLIN'! He's averaging 19/8/6, a solid game tonight against one of the best bigs in the game today, and he's only 21!

If we can somehow manage to keep these guys together (Sengun, Smith, Green, Eason) and see how Amen comes along, we're gonna be good for a long time... it's early but it's hard not to get excited about this team and its future

I'm not gonna lie, I wasn't completely sold on Sengun mainly because of him being a liability on defense. Dude has proven me wrong, he's playing solid defense this season. He's our best player and its not even close. This is the Udoka effect coaching all these youngsters up & getting rid of bad habits that Silas allowed.

One of the most intriguing teams going into this season is the Houston Rockets. They hired a new coach in Ime, and brought in vets like VanVleet, Oladipo, Jeff Green, and Dillon Brooks to pair with young guys like Jalen Green, Jabari Smith Jr., and Amen Thompson.

It sure would be nice to have a real Rockets fan in this thread to discuss the team instead of just Kobe and Mike stans that live in Texas that occasionally root for them. Their squad deserves real support. I haven't seen much discussion on the players I listed but suspect if they have early success, some folks will come in and pretend they been posting about them instead of Wemby or some white adjacent player that isn't on their squad.

That was me talking about Houston Rockets almost a month ago when everyone was still distracted by Steph and Wemby. I'm glad everyone now sees what I been saw.

Dillon Brooks hit LeBron in the nuts in the playoffs last year and talked trash about him, and you've seen me show him nothing but love. I don't believe a player could punch everybody's favorite shooting guards all time in the nuts while trashing them publicly, and still get love from their fanbase. They would hate on said player forever. But real fans respect tough hard nosed players. And real fans can see when a team is bout to ball, they don't have to wait til said team beats the GOAT's to feel good about them. :ssshhh:

Leadership is without question the most underrated trait by NBA fans. Most don't factor it into their assessments about the best players because most fans root for stars who often are NOT the de facto leaders of their team. Most fans only view leadership as being aloof and disrespectful to your teammates. They don't understand you can build guys up by actually believing in them and sacrificing yourself so they can shine. Everybody isn't selfish.

It's wild seeing the mention of DEFENSE in today's NBA...it's as if I'm in a parallel universe
