This is the downside of making excuses for Gen X all these years. Now we got dudes who never won shit or won A ring being celebrated strictly for being born in the 70's. Dudes will clown LeBron and bring up his Finals record, then turn around and dicksuck Allen Iverson just because of the era he is from and the fact they played with lower expectations. He got gentleman swept in the Finals and became a legend off that, and never did shit else.
Thats why a T-Mac or a Chauncey Billups or Rasheed Wallace feel like they can talk down to people who came after them that did it waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay bigger, made waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more money, and are higher profile.

I saw a post last week I think saying how Tatum was looking into the crowd and his father was giving him advice the whole game but I don't think I've ever seen them together, with the Celtics being in the Finals, it being Father's Day weekend and them supposedly having had a strained relationship I'd think the media would make this a story
Jayson Tatum is closer with his father than has been portrayed. His dad played overseas and played a part in his development. Unfortunately, fatherless Black American athletes are sometimes more marketable to fans, they don't like the image of the Black American father with a strong presence (see LeBron James and his son), so some guys literally pretend they grew up in single parent households to appear "safer".

yes recently they have been closer as Tatum flies him out to Boston to be around. But the father does not stay in Boston.
I think Tatum want his father to be more of a grandfather to his son than he was a father to him.
Tatums mother struggled her entire life. she was an only mother and it was hard to put food on the table since tatums father was away doing his basketball overseas as a single yound man..
Tatums mother had to go to school at night to get a better education to provide for Tatum( she now has 4 degrees and is a lawyer)
Tatums only family is his mother and his mother is the default mother of both Tatum and duece( on a day to day in Boston).
That is why you always see lil deuce with tatum. he wants to always be a father to his kid( something he never had)
So every second tatum is not playing basketball he is with lil duece. BGOl can clown tatum all day because lil duece is always at the games, has his own locker like like the other teammates but people without fathers try not to repeat the cycle.......
