}~~~> Official 2024/2025 NBA Thread<~~~{ the playoffs are here!!!

Nike Jumpman doesn't just pay ESPN to fluff Mikey, they also pay them not to trash an Under Armour athlete that's marketed as an alternative to Bron. ESPN can't talk about Curry's game. It would alienate white viewers. This way when he plays well again (he will) they can glaze him and everyone can still say he's more successful than Bron for being light skinned and white passing. Even BGOL isn't going in. Now that everyone knows it's never been about basketball, they can respond accordingly.

I has to pause it at the first finals
So can I bring up bam and dragic being hurt is why the heat lost the finals in the bubble ?
Herro being out against Denver?

Sure, the only reason the Lakers who had the leagues best record that year beat the Heat is cuz Bam and Dragic were hurt. If they were healthy, Lakers get swept. Only reason Bron posted 29, 8, and 7 is cuz those guys were out. That's the general consensus.

Jimmy's best 2 teammates were out
Best scorer and best defender

@Big Tex

Bruh, speaking from fan experience, the 2018-2019 season the Nuggets finished as the #2 seed after missing the playoffs like 5 straight years. EVERYBODY said that the Nuggets were the team that other teams should want to play. Why? Cuz they went from not making the playoffs straight to top 2 in the West with a young and inexperienced team. They lost in 7 to the fucking Blazers in the 2nd round and the rest is history.

My point is, the Rockets have missed the playoffs the last 4 years and are the #2 seed with a young, inexperienced team….same shit. Nobody respects y’all and that is expected until you win in the playoffs like @largebillsonlyplease stated

And like I said, y’all might need to go through a tough loss to launch y’all’s success.
Lakers cooked a young Nuggets team in the bubble. They took that shit personal and been on our ass ever since.

The trolling heavily relies on media and social media support. Without ESPN and the clickbait sites, there is no trolling. But what happens when white people no longer believe in the credibility of the media and are exhausted from the misinformation of the clickbait? LeBron is gonna play at least 3 more seasons, is all this sustainable to combat that? Stephen A and these troll farms gotta put in work for 3 more years. That's asking a lot, and it's not like we don't got young players coming in that people want to see covered fairly. This new TV arrangement is bout to change the discourse because it has to. If your team sucks, you shouldn't be talking shit, just like with the NFL. We gotta get back to that.

No
But i do think they could've beat the Lakers

Well, you're the only one cuz that is considered Bron's weakest Finals opponent and he was the best player by a wide margin. When Steph beat him in 2015 without his co-stars (that he won with in 2016), he had a teammate that was considered better and won Finals MVP over him. Not the same thing.

Jokic 2023 Finals numbers the same as Bron's in 2020 by the way.

He was great
Jimmy was too

This is why Shaq wouldn't be as effective today and couldn't play the whole game. He's too slow defensively and offensively, and he doesn't have the range to compensate being on the floor. He'd still be all star level, but just brute power and force doesn't work in this era. You have to be skilled and be able to shoot.

@KingTaharqa I just remembered the nuggets finals. Olidipo was out too in addition to herro and jimmy came into the series injured because of the Knicks series prior.
Denver was rolling though

The problem is none of those guys actually won anything. The Cavs winning in 2016 validated that K Love and Kyrie were missed the year prior. Miami needed to win in 2023. When they didn't, it just reaffirmed that they were a weak Finals opponent. People would say the same thing bout the Celtics had they lost last year after choking in 2022.

I don't think anyone was beating that nuggets team the way they were shooting that series
It was ridiculous

Same team choked in the 2nd round the following year at home. They played 3 play in teams that year to win a title. Miami was one of them and wasn't that good. Until Bam and company win something, no one is gonna assume they would've won in the past including the Lakers who handled them in 6 games. If you would've won a chip in any of the 4 years after the Bubble, people would give the "we were injured in 2020" shit more cred. But you didn't. Now the Lakers are poised to go back to the Finals again.

The nuggets lost a bunch of players after that finals

I def want the Lakers to avoid OKC early. Same with Jamal Jordan but if you wanna win a chip you gotta beat some tough teams.

I was one of those, "Steph got 3 chips but no Finals MVP", guys. Steph proved all of us on that boat to be dumbasses. Fuckin' assassin but he can't do it alone.
Nobody can do it alone which was always the point.

LeBron got swept by himself.

There's no exceptions. Maybe Dirk.
