Gilbert kinda contradicts himself here with the OTE thing hurting them.

I seem to recall Gil saying that a highly skilled, elite talent kid coming from high school going straight to the pros would likely perform better in the nba than if he'd gone to college first.

His reasoning was, the kid from high school has been getting his own buckets in iso and the college style of play could hinder that ability with the slower style of play. That may not be exactly how he said it but that was the gist of his argument... basically, that scoring, go get a bucket, create your own shot style of play that averaged you 35 points in high school was better for you than the pass pass pass pass pass shoot style played in college.

If OKC slips up we could catch them... after that Memphis game the Rockets have the easiest schedule remaining.

But OKC, as talented as they are, plus with Chet returning from injury soon, that's a VERY big IF...

General discussion: For the NBA, where is the best place Cooper Flagg could end up?

Utah is the worst. He's the best white American prospect of the century, sending him to Utah would tokenize and crackerize him. We don't need that Caitlyn Clark Indiana Fever Race War dynamic around this kid.

Speaking of Clark, in the NBA's eastern standings, Indiana is six games ahead of the 10th seed so it is an extremely unlikely destination, which is good because the home of the Klan would probably be the second worst place for him to end up.

And speaking of the Klan, thank you @Yahweh, I now realize you only allowed Boston to be so good right now to spare us from the dystopian nightmare of @Beeiii's Celtics drafting the next Larry Bird. (In 20 years I bet most Bostonians would wish they could trade the 2024 title for the 2025 #1 pick.)

I haven't thought about where he would be best (I've never seen the kid play so it's just hype to me) but the prospect of teaming him with Wemby sounds appealing.

Thoughts? Best franchise he could realistically end up with?

Shut your flaming gay cracker ass up. If Flagg gets drafted by Utah, your bitch ass will have a Jazz jersey, FOH.

This ain’t NBA 2k Adam :hmm:

Imagine someone scoring 84 points in a game with 10 minute quarters.

That's the equivalent of 100.8 points in a 48 minute game.

If that happens, who is the single game record holder?

To actually get to 100 in a 40 minute game requires scoring the equivalent of 120 points in a 48 minute game. So that obviously won't happen. 84 would have to be the new 100. Except it couldn't be because IT'S NOT and who knows if the player could have kept it up another 8 minutes?

Scoring 68 in 40 would be the equivalent of Kobe's 81 in 48 minutes... Except, again, everyone would know it didn't stack up.

It isn't just single game records. LeBron has 41,474 points. If you cut 8 minutes off of every game, that's the equivalent of 34,561 points. But if LeBron only had to play 40 minute games, he'd have probably scored at a higher rate. So if a player drafted under the new system goes on to score 35,000 points, are they the real scoring king? LeBron could never come close to 40,000 if you just took away nearly 20% of each game, which is basically 14 games less per season-- That difference is the same as 294 less 48 minute games played over his 21 year career!!!

The old records would just be irrelevant for comparison purposes. It would just be a big RESET button on NBA history. Terrible idea.

Can't really fault them, seems like they were trying to correct some of the "mistakes" they made with Bron

But you put mistakes in quotes because you don't believe they were mistakes? If so, can't you fault them for fucking up twice, taking a different approach to fuck up a second situation? "Fighting the last war" is how generals lose.

Your response is like a student adjusting to every answer being "C" on the last test by correcting to answer "C" every time on the next one instead of recognizing the pattern when the correct answers were all now "D."

Except... he aint Bron.

That's actually a good point-- It's like an older man who finally learns to treat his woman right but it was Alicia Keys he failed to appreciate and Alicia Lockpicker reaping the benefits.
