Official 2025 NFL Off Season Discussion!!!

Interesting thing came up in my draft prep calls, for years teams have pulled players off the board for A) injury concerns or B) character concerns.

A third category/reason has been added and most teams I talked to had guys off their board for: “Doesn’t love football.” This was the first year it was so prevalent. I asked around why that is and the thought was because of NIL money, guys have already been paid and some feel they don’t need to grind to get paid. So the guys who LOVE FOOTBALL are probably appreciated more. Just an interesting tidbit to pass along

Chicago Bears legend Steve McMichael has died at the age of 67 following a heartbreaking battle with ALS.

McMichael passed away Wednesday evening surrounded by loved ones, according to Jarrett Payton, who was with him in his final moments.

'With deep sorrow, I share that Steve McMichael passed at 5:28 PM after a brave fight with #ALS, surrounded by loved ones. I’m grateful to have been with him in his final moments. Please keep Steve and his family your prayers,' Payton, the former NFL running back and son of Walter Payton wrote on X.

ALS, which is also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, impacts the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, causing loss of muscle control.

McMichael is loved throughout the city for his key role in the 1985 Super Bowl-winning team. He played for the Bears for 13 seasons and holds a club record for 191 consecutive games played.

His death came just five hours after it had been reported that he would be entering hospice care.

The first actual draft where Lynch can't "copy Peters answers to the test"
And vice versa, Peters can't "copy from Lynch & Shannahan"
Peters & Lynch more than likely scouted together in advance last year, before he left for Washington
But it should be interesting tomorrow night though

true but peters drafted Daniels and Sainristil when he arrived
can't wait to see who gets picked this time around
i'm thinking Edge, and another DB should be priority.

Notes from John Keim’s latest podcast

• Not fully convinced that the #Commanders will pick a RB in the first round, possibly even second round.

• Washington “absolutely wants a RB”, would be surprised if they don’t add one this draft.

• Team has met with Mike Green a number of times, have interest in him.

• There is “definite interest” from the team in CB Maxwell Hairston

• Washington would like to continue addressing offensive line, build around Jayden. Keim believes if Tyler Booker is there, team would “probably run to the podium”

i'm good with B-Rob...adding more to the O-line and getting better at run blocking would help. Seems like every time robinson gets the ball, guys are right in his face. that's not his fault. I'd even go as far as to say robinson is a downhill runner, so his style may not fit the scheme. i agree with their approach if true.

Who do you guys want the Commanders to draft?
Or who do you think they will draft?
Because sometimes the two answers are different
Passrushers, Mike Green or James Pierce Jr?

Edge and DB....Add a RB later also....

AP in his press conference the other day said they don't have no plans of moving up, but if Abdul Carter was dropp to 27, he said he is picking up the phone ASAP! LOL

We know that ain't happening, but I think we go with edge in the first round...

Keep hearing Greene or Stewart as potential candidates alot at that pick....

McShay made a solid case for a DB

not sure as i have not watched either of them play, but the need HAS to be addressed after letting Dante fowler (10.5 sacks and a pick 6) return to dallas.

Mike Green & James Pierce are both legit...on the field
The thing that's making them slip is some rumored off the field issues
Mike Green was "allegedly" accused of some "Shannon Sharpe sexual assault type shit"
And James Pierce "allegedly" is a "hot head" who tends to argue with coaches, etc, etc
I don't know much else other than the rumors :dunno:

:frozen: :frozen: :frozen: :frozen:

Let’s see if this new mock comes to life…. But slipping to 2nd rd wtf

i

21.

Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

I know Sanders had a good meeting in Pittsburgh when he visited a few weeks back. I also know the Steelers still don't have a QB1 on their roster. This might be viewed as a "slip" down the board for Sanders. He could go anywhere from No. 3 to the Giants to the second round.

Going to Pittsburgh here as the second quarterback in the class wouldn't be so bad.

Pierce is one player I haven't seen people associate Washington with....I've seen his name alot though as one of the top edge rushers in the draft

The 9ers short list of possible players at #11:

** D-line, Mason Graham (If he somehow falls)
** O-line, Armand Membou (If he somehow falls)
** D-line, Walter Nolan (he might be there)
