I actually feel bad for the people who still talk about season 1, or stopped watching. Its like two different shows, season 1 & 2 are.

This is going to be another writers circle topic.
I feel like they made a conscious decision to start like that.
you have to establish a base, build character relationship emotional ties and especially in Wheadon case that is his trademark to then turn everything on its ear.

I remember many didn't like the first episodes of Deadwood, Breaking Bad, Saul and The Wire. It is so difficult to create thst world the immediately welcomes the viewer.

It's like the second season of the wire, it was ESSENTIAL to the overall story they were trying to tell, even though at the time no one saw that.

Another show like that is The Americans - I know people who say they couldn't get through the first few episode and I tell them they have to stick through season 1 and from there it is a rollercoaster ride -

Same is true with Agents of SHEILD

Even though "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." hasn't yet been officially renewed for a third season, ABC may be looking to grow its Marvel content even further: a spinoff of the sophomore series is reportedly "quietly" in development, with a chance of debuting as early as this fall. Both ABC and Marvel declined comment on Entertainment Weekly's story.

It's not yet known which characters would feature in the spinoff, or what the concept will be, but "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." executive producer Jeffrey Bell and writer Paul Zbyszewski are named as the creative forces behind it. The show is said to launch following storylines set to be introduced in the latter episodes of the current second season of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."

If the spinoff doesn't happen by this fall, it could debut in midseason, the outlet states, or, as is always a possibility, not happen at all. Additionally, EW states that a third season of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." is "pretty much guaranteed," and that "Marvel's Agent Carter" has a "roughly 60 percent chance" of returning for a second season.

I like the idea of an Agents of SHIELD Spinoff but they need have it be more Superhero based - more "Powers" or at least costumed characters - as Arrow and The Flash has proven, you can do "Powers" week in and week out and keep up the qualities and it a great way to intro the full panoply of Marvel characters.

As for Peggy Carter, I want to see a second season but cut it to six episodes and have multiple baddies - this looking for Howard Stark and just dealing with the Russians dragged along but the idea was still good one. Bonus Hayley Atwell's big breasts

Yeah man. I think that's what messed up shield in the beginning. A lot of people thought it would be more super power based.specially coming from the avengers wave. The best eps to me were the oness with ssuper powers in them.

Marvel developing Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff for ABC -- exclusive

Huge news for Agents of SHIELD fans. Not only is a third season of the action-adventure series pretty much guaranteed, but Marvel is quietly developing a spinoff for ABC.

We’re told a spinoff is being developed by SHIELD executive producer Jeffrey Bell (Angel, The X-Files) and SHIELD writer Paul Zbyszewski (Lost, Hawaii Five-0).

We don’t know is which characters from the current series will be moving over to the proposed spinoff – so let the speculation being on that. There won’t be an implanted pilot episode this season directly setting up the spinoff, either (like how CW launched The Flash out of Arrow). However, story elements that are still to come on SHIELD this year will be used to lay the groundwork for the potential new series. So by the end of the season – assuming the details for this project haven’t already leaked, which is rather unlikely – the spinoff concept should be clear.

Under the best-case scenario, the spinoff would hit ABC as soon as this fall. But there are other timing possibilities too, including midseason. Of course, the spinoff also might not even happen. Not only is SHIELD not yet officially renewed, but ABC has yet to select which of its crop of pilots will receive series orders – decisions that could impact the SHIELD spinoff plan.

SHIELD currently averages 7.4 million viewers and a 2.8 rating among adults 18-49, when including seven days of DVR playback. If greenlit, the spinoff would expand Marvel’s TV empire yet again. On ABC there’s SHIELD and Agent Carter (that latter, we’re told, has about a roughly 60 percent chance of returning for a second season). Plus the studio has its multi-title Netflix slate in the pipeline which launches tomorrow with Daredevil. ABC does not comment on current development, and Marvel had no comment.

So which character(s) do you think Marvel is eyeing for the SHIELD spinoff?

I hope they make a season two of Peggy Carter also ....for whatever reason didn't like it...

I think that's why they're making the spinoff, because many people thought there would be powers and plus Disney is seeing how well "The Flash" is doing now...

Don't be surprised,if the spinoff has something to do with the Inhumans...

Man I love the slow burn marvel is doing with shield to fill in back story so the movie doesn't have to.

I think we are seeing the begginings of the civil war plot right now.

You got two angles the whole shield (coulson) vs the real shield (olmos) bullshit.

Than you have the powered beings vs regular folk thing.

I know the movie is in the works, but I kinda wish they would bring Dr. Strange into the tv series. Cumberbatch was good on Sherlock and can definitely carry a series and I feel like Dr Strange is the kind of character that could work on tv...Constantine proves that.

this might be a mistake...

if they are able to somehow someway get Jeremy Renner to appear as Hawkeye?

And they make it more of an alias (Jennifer Garner) meets Marvel then yeah.

But the fact they already have Agent Carter (i'd rather they concentrate on that)

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Ruth Negga cast as female lead in AMC pilot Preacher

ruth-negga.jpg

Ruth Negga (Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.) has been cast as the female lead in AMC’s drama pilot Preacher, based on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s cult 1990s comic, EW has confirmed.

A project from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the pilot is about Jesse Custer, a conflicted preacher in a small Texas town who merges with a creature that escaped from heaven. He develops the ability to make anyone do whatever he says. He teams up with his ex-girlfriend and only true love, Tulip (Negga), and an Irish vampire named Cassidy on a journey to literally find God.

According to Deadline, Tulip is described as “a volatile, action-packed, sexified force of nature, a capable, unrepentant criminal with a love of fashion and ability to construct helicopter-downing bazookas out of coffee cans and corn shine who’s not afraid to steal, kill or corn cob-stab her way out of a bad situation.”

Negga is the first actor to be cast in Preacher, from Sony TV and AMC Studios. Rogen and Goldberg will direct the pilot, written by showrunner Sam Catlin.

I didn't see that coming.....:smh::smh::smh:

Great episode love the way they are blending old with new.

Tieing up plot lines while building for after AOU.

Sucks that the lead in episode to avengers is next week but we have to wait until may 1st :hmm:

great episode and some great acting and the anticipation to finally figure out what happened everything tying together.

great job.

I was really wrong thing she was too old to play May effectively.

she has been greaat and deserves a spin off more then the blonde robot.

didn't like how it was a secret that would jeopardize everything and they aint lock the door?
