Official Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Discussion (12/1/17 @8PM)

Marvel's Agent Carter Renewed For Second Season

Marvel's Agent Carter has been renewed for a second season starting in 2016, ABC and Marvel Studios announced today.

The series had solid ratings -- not quite what ABC might have hoped for given the Marvel pedigree, but certainly better than most reruns or fill-ins would have been likely to have -- and great reviews. Fans have been actively engaged in the #SaveAgentCarter hashtag on social media since the season finale.

Spinning out of the events of Captain America: The First Avenger, Marvel's Agent Carter follows Peggy Carter, Cap's former sweetheart and current agent of a proto-S.H.I.E.L.D., working alongside Iron Man's father and his butler Edwin Jarvis. It's produced by Marvel Studios and showrun by Tara Butters, Michele Fazekas, and Chris Dingess.

‘Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Spinoff Not Going Forward At ABC

I hear ABC and Marvel have put the brakes on the proposed Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff. The project was supposed to be set up by events from this season of S.H.I.E.L.D. and toplined by Season 2 cast additions Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood, revolving around their respective characters Lance Hunter and Barbara “Bobbi” Morse, aka Mockingbird. ABC and Marvel had no comment. The project had been developed quietly by S.H.I.E.L.D. executive producer Jeffrey Bell and co-executive producer Paul Zbyszewski.

S.H.I.E.L.D. fans have been divided by the spinoff, and there had been some backlash to the idea of taking some of the strongest new characters on S.H.I.E.L.D. away from the mothership series.

There was an inkling that the spinoff might not be going forward when ABC tonight renewed both existing Marvel series, S.H.I.E.L.D. for a third season, and Agent Carter, which bridged S.H.I.E.L.D.’s half-seasons this year, for a second.

ABC and Marvel also are secretly working on a potential series with John Ridley, who will be busy with a second installment of American Crime, just picked up by the network.

Every time you think you're done with Ward here he comes with that smug look doing something fucking dirty.

Just kill him off please

Got rid of all my bro's Tripp got stoned up

Mack quitting and shit

we need a new black janitor or something

I know man, they even stoned up Lt. Castillo (Miami Vice) for good measure.
I knew he was dead soon as he said he was going in. No people of color, May better watch her ass

I had no idea that Ming-Na(Agent May) was over 50(she's 51)! I thought she was doing a good job, but for her age, she is doing a great job!

A few observations...
In the MCU, the Avengers have taken the place of the FF as the public face of super heroes and Agents of SHIELD version of the Inhumans are filling or will fill the same role as the X Men. Or am I the only one that sees these parallels?

Yeah we've talked about that since marvel doesn't have the rights to x-men they can't use the term mutants in the movies or tv. So Inhumans have taken the place of mutant

Even though I really liked the season finale, how the hell did Jiaying die, especially when it's told multiple times that she had her body torn to pieces by Hydra.....:confused:

Also, does anyone thing they are setting up for "Secret Warriors"....

The Avengers were always the face of the Heroes especially since they take a lot from the Ultimate universe. The FF for all intent and purposes are Avengers.

The difference with the Inhumans is they replaced the X-Men, powers wise, but they bring the cosmic/space element.

"Secret Warriors"
http://comicbook.com/2015/05/12/agents-of-s-h-i-e-l-d-what-is-skyes-new-project-/

Tonight’s season finale of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ended with Coulson prepping Skye for a new project, recruiting and leading a team of super powered people operating in anonymity.

The concept sounds quite similar to that of the Secret Warriors comic Marvel published from 2009-11. The comic saw Daisy Johnson, under the supervision of Nick Fury, travelling the world to recruit “Caterpillars,” young people with power and potential, to join Fury’s new team. The team would get a trial run battling Skrulls as part of the Secret Invasion storyline before moving on to their true purpose, waging a shadow war against the terrorist organizations Hydra and Leviathan, as well as the corrupt organization that supplanted S.H.I.E.L.D., Norman Osborn’s H.A.M.M.E.R.

Stonewall

Jerry Sledge is the son of the Absorbing Man, Carl “Crusher” Creel. Jerry was conceived before Creel got his powers, and Jerry’s own powers manifested after coming into contact with his father.

Jerry takes the codename Stonewall, and displays superhuman traits similar to his father’s. He has enhanced strength and endurance, and can absorb the properties of elements he comes into contact with.

Creel was seen early in Season 2 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., so introducing Stonewall would be an interesting way of picking up that plot thread. Creel also lost to “Battling” Jack Murdock, Matt Murdock’s father, on the night Jack was murdered. This could provide an opportunity to tie Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.and Daredevil together.

Loved the finale. Seemed like everyone took an L of some sort either Mentally or Physically.

Question: Did Ward really love that agent 33 chick? I had just assumed he was playing her to get back at his old buddies.

That was a 2 hr movie wold have paid to see in the theatre.

I hope they continue to use Whedon's people for the series because this tome is entirely from that universe.

I got no complaints...

I was about to when they killed Trip and it appeared Mack was leaving....

THEN they established Mack as bad ass status

I am will like I said from the first episode reserve all judgement till the end.

Ward is damaged and corrupted you can put him with skye's dad.

He THINKS he loved her, because she was just as damaged as hm and accepted him for what she was but he manipulated her the whole time too and you saw how he looks at Skye.

So yes in his mind he loves her BECAUSE she is a convenient excuse for him to go on a rampage and continue to make excuses and fell justified in being an evil bastard.

:smh:
Just when Fitz was bout to get him some
Poor bastard can't catch a break. :smh:

The moment that I saw
part 2 written by Joss Wheldon come up on the screen, I knew something was either going to happen to her or Fitz. Especially when she brought up him confessing that he loved her last season.

I've seen way too much Angel and Buffy at this point. If you're in a Wheldon production, and it's been hinted at for over a season that you and another character are going to hook up. The second one of you say, "let's get dinner", you minus whale just kill yourself.

same deal with any Walking Dead ep thats written or co-written by Robert Kirkman
