HEAT FANS!!!!

I was at the game last night.........

So I was pissed!!!

Half the fuckin Arena was NY Knicks fans....

They were booing LBJ when he was taking free throws in the 4th....

Some Knicks fans (you know Miami is transplant heaven for NYer's) were chanting "Suck Dick" when Bron was shooting FT's in the second qtr.

Here is the only thing I have to give us some hope.....

In the 2006-2007 Ring year it was the same way....

Losing games that were tight...

We actually kicked ass for most of last nights game

However, the overlooked piece in the whole NY trade is Billups.

To watch him direct traffic on the court is something every up and coming point guard should watch. Some beautiful shit. Then he hits most of his FT's and rarely misses a three in the 4th.

I was sooo hoping he got bought out and came down here.

We are trying to work Miller back into the rotation. This loss hurts however we will be okay.

No team in the East will beat the Heat in a 7 game series.

LA is not coming out the West this year.

Might be Miami/Dallas part 2.

I keep hearing this shit about them getting Bibby? you head anything about that? Bibby is not the greatest pg in the world and cant defend...but i think he could be a decent fit for this squad.

Yea man im hearing about it but dont know how true it is.. Hell he can shoot and get to the rim,.so yea he is a big upgrade from what they have now.

We would have the same problem....

The Heat are deceptive because Coach Spo is still experimenting with lineups.

It seems like we are worse off then we really are.

Notice ...with all the tinkering he keeps doing we still aren't getting blown out...as a matter of fact we are giving leads away with poor execution in the offensive set with sloppy ball handling.

Defense=check
scoring=check

I am really not worried about the center position per se

.

Billips used to run my Pistons man.... when he is playing well and with a chip on his shoulder...he is one of the better PGs in the league...and I think he feels underappreciated because people look at him as just a throw-in on the melo deal..

I thought he was going to get a buyout and go to Miami.... because if that happened :itsawrap:

Lebron can run an offense but he is not a real point. Wade as well...they both (especially Wade) are turnover prone...now you combine that with the fact that they dont run any real offensive sets....it causes problems. Running the triple-post offense, for instance, lead to decrease in turnovers by Jordan as it gets him the ball in scoring position and also the triple-post of predicated on proper spacing that opens up passing lanes (which reduces turnovers).

The lack of post play is obvious because the heat dont have one real post player....but the overall lack of offensive flow bothers me.

it does not effect them against most teams because they can just exploit matchups with pure athleticism.

However that is not enough against good defensively sound teams (like boston, chicago, etc) and that is why they struggle and will continue to struggle against those teams.

Same reason they lose close games.... just putting getting the ball to Wade or Lebron at the top of the key and clearing out is not going to get the job done

It is the center position as much as just a lack of any real post play. Thus, at the end of the games, they are dependent lebron or wade creating....and they cant get any easy buckets in the post nor create easy mid range shots from passes out of the post.

You hit it.....

I will go as far as to say getting Billups is just as if not more important than Melo.

I'll go even further.....Billups is HOF in my book. His intangibles are underrated in a stats driven ESPN world.

Exactly....

I have yet to see a center go off on Miami

They play good defense.

It's the PG defense that I worry most about.

DWade and Bron are a bit to lackadaisical with the ball ala Pierce

Honestly the one thing I can say about literally EVERY Heat lost is that no one has beat them soundly yet. That to me just says its about execution..they blow the game themselves.

:confused::confused::confused:
dude are you high!!!
you need to go back and watch the celtics games on replay!!!
the celtics dismantle the heat by 12 to 15 points every game in the first half.
then later in the game the celtics relax, and let the heat catch up so the celtics only win by 7 points.

stop the bullshit!!!!
watch the games dude!!!

the heat are always losing in the celtics games, and have to catch up to even compete!!!!
Celtics pretty much concentrate on shutting down wade!! and let bron score

Captain No show!!!

When does Haslem get back, with as good as Dampier has been playing I'm not sure I want to see him get taken out of his groove just yet.

Coach is still a bum.

I cant say I agree with this. Boston dismantled them in the first game (although it was their first game as a team)...it was much closer on paper than the game really was. They got blown out by 20+ but lebron wasnt playing. They have a horrible record against the elite teams and they always find a way to lose close games. This is VERY troubling man..... I also dont like they way their offense runs...just a lot of isolation...no real offensive sets and still no post presence....

This team is not displaying championship quality basketball... at least Boston opened things up for them by getting rid of Perkins..

It's the time to put the ball in someone elses hand during the closing moments of the regulation. LBJ has proven time and time again this season, he can't hit anything and win games.. :smh:

Spurs’ Parker out 2-4 weeks with calf injury
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AiysLQOkBWDwvPPxIMq.DWS8vLYF?slug=ap-spurs-parker

SAN ANTONIO (AP)—Spurs point guard Tony Parker(notes) is expected to miss two to four weeks after straining his left calf muscle in a win over Memphis.

The Spurs announced Monday that their star point guard won’t accompany them to Memphis and Cleveland this week. It will also leave the NBA-best Spurs without Parker for their first game against LeBron James(notes) and the Miami Heat on Friday.

Parker left Sunday’s game in the second quarter when he collided with Grizzlies guard Mike Conley(notes). He did not return.

Health has been a major factor behind San Antonio’s surprise return to their championship form. Tim Duncan(notes), Manu Ginobili(notes) and Parker have started all but one game.

MIAMI — It's not personal, Carlos. It's strictly business.

So goes life in the NBA franchise most closely resembling the Corleone family from "The Godfather."

On a day when competing basketball organizations worked to sign their own mercenaries to battle each other come go-to-the-mattresses time, it was the loyal, steady but ultimately unnecessary Carlos Arroyo who was the first casualty.

No one could take Arroyo off the hook Tuesday, not for old time's sake, not at all.

Because after starting 42 games for this 43-17 Heat team, Arroyo was cut Tuesday to make room for Mike Bibby. Bibby, an aged but able point guard and healthy upgrade over Arroyo and current starter Mario Chalmers, reportedly will join the Heat after being bought out by the Wizards.

But it's Arroyo's plight that shows the cunning and cold-bloodedness – all in good ways – that should remind everyone that the Heat still have a serious advantage over every other NBA franchise vying for a championship this season and in the seasons ahead.

And it's not LeBron James, Dwyane Wade or Chris Bosh.

It's the Godfather of the NBA: Pat "Don Corleone" Riley.

Riley alone had the chops, smarts, long-term vision and ruthlessness to convince LeBron, Wade and Chris Bosh to take pay cuts in order to join his family.

Riley even has his protégé, Erik "Michael Corleone" Spoelstra, calling his players "brothers." And the Heat have followed suit, LeBron included.

Because it's a family.

As in, always keep it in the family. A lesson even LeBron seems to have learned this season.

The Godfather has been mostly silent, unseen and most certainly in charge this season. You never let anyone outside the family know what you're thinking, and Riley certainly hasn't.

As long as he continues to rule the family, Miami should have no problem steadily consolidating power until it seizes the reins as NBA top dog. That most likely will happen next season.

But Riley is the Godfather for a reason. Cutting loose someone as loyal and beloved as Arroyo shows he has the chops to sacrifice pawns in order to reward kings.

Today, Spoelstra is Michael Corleone, a promising but unproven (and within the family, underestimated) protégé. LeBron James is Tessio, loyal always to the Godfather if not his son Michael. Wade is Clemenza, a long-term loyalist to the entire family, Godfather or otherwise. (He is, after all, more a Spoelstra guy than any other Heat star.)

LeBron-Tessio "was always smarter" (in basketball terms: better) than Wade-Clemenza, though both are formidable and able captains. Both would command clout and respect anywhere else. But with the Godfather around, there is limited chance of dissension within the Heat family.

But even great captains need soldiers.

There's Chris Bosh, who seems, were we to ask Kevin Durant at least, the best candidate to be Fredo.

The Heat's biggest problem is they have no Luca Brasi, a big, strong, violent force they can unleash in the trenches of the paint.

Which brings us to Bibby's imminent arrival.

At his most capable, Bibby can be Tom Hagen, a consigliere who makes everyone out there smarter, better, more likely to succeed – an extension of the Godfather and Michael out on the court. But short of that, being a capable, but behind-the-scenes lieutenant set on making his captains more effective will do.

It's better than Chalmers, a low-level guy with few chances for advancement in the family.

And poor Carlos?

He feels a lot like Enzo the baker – only if Enzo's loyalty and fake-gun act during his commitment to protect the Godfather got him gunned down on the steps of the hospital.

Would the Godfather have mourned poor Enzo? Sent out a statement praising him like Riley did for Arroyo on Tuesday? Felt bad?

Of course.

Then the Godfather, and his family, would have gone out and gotten real soldiers for the wars ahead.

Don't underestimate Pat Riley and his plan. (I would have kept Arroyo over Chalmers, but, hey, I'm not the Godfather.)

If not this season, Riley and his organization soon will dominate everyone else.

The Godfather is patient, cunning, bold and usually ahead of his adversaries.

And he does what he must for the family.

These are Don Corleone's words to Michael. But they just as easily could have been Riley's words to Spoelstra this week:

"I work my whole life, I don't apologize, to take care of my family. And I refused to be a fool, dancing on the strings held by all of those big shots. I don't apologize. That's my life."

Against above .500 teams, the Heat are now 14-15:lol::lol:

Where's that guy that was saying the Heat were playing possum against Boston...they must be using that same strategy against all good clubs.
