has never made an all defensive team just shows he’s not doing what’s needed to win.

he's just missed it by a couple of votes last year...so not like he's garbage. he's a good defender.

I don't like shoot-first PGs (even though he led the league in assists and the only pg with 10+ last season) and I wouldnt build my team around Westbrook, but they don't know how to pick coaches and they don't keep their talent.

Portland and the Warriors have way more talented lineups than OKC. You're making an apple to oranges comparison. And he just didn't leave for any team.. he left for LA which he's been saying he wanted to go back to for a long time.

OKC and Portland teams are comparable. He had a chance to go to LA and passed. Then after getting a call he decided to leave. If he said let’s go to New York you think the answer is different? He saw he couldn’t win with Russ, shit easy to see.

Russ isn't a good defender because he stopped trying to play defense a long time ago

He had potential to be the best on the ball point guard defender of this generation he just doesn't give the effort

He doesn’t guard the other teams PG

They should’ve never made him a PG.

He's an undersized 2 like a lot of the league's PGs are.... but as much as he's a shoot-first PG, the muthafucka still led the league in assists. You can't discount that.

I'm an old school guy so I like PGs who run the offense and distribute the ball...not shoot-first PGs but I think OKC is dysfunctional and it's not ALL on Westbrook.

If PG gets that phone call from anyone else, he's not leaving. But to go back home and team up with Kawhi for a chance to win titles is a bit too much to resist for most players.

If you take westbook off and put Kawhi in OKC, they still aint winning shit. It's an organizational problem.

Yea that’s just not true. Russ in place of Kwahi and you would’ve at least got to the WCF, they lost in the first round to Portland a team with one all star and a maybe all star. If Steph gives that call he’s gone. If Bron gives that call, Embid, Greek he leaves. He couldn’t get out the first round with Russ and he went to ECF with hibbert. That team should’ve at least made the second round. Last year it was on melo, this year there was no melo and they won one more game and the same playoff results . It’s on Russ they. They got players I don’t know why your acting like they don’t.

Exactly. he had a chance to go to LA and didn't (to stay with Russell). He could have been playing in LA with Lebron but stayed in OKC to play with Russell. However, getting a call from Kawhi and looking at the clippers rosters was too much to refuse. That's making my point. It took an exceptional situation for him to leave... he fucking re-upped after playing a year with Westbrook when he was a UFA. If he thought Westbrook was trash, he would have left could have selected any other team to go to.

I have to admit, I was wrong about Perk. After watching him on a few more shows, I had him pegged wrong. He's really improving as a media personality and has also owned up to shit he got wrong. No shame in manning up and admitting you didn't have it right.

what kind of imaginary world are you living in?! PG was a fucking free agent in 2018 after a year of playing with Westbrook and decided to stay! lmbaoo..he could have played anywhere he wanted and he CHOSE OKC... and that was after they got booted early.

and that team in Indy gets booted out of the 1st round in the west last year...different scenarios

but there is no debate about PG.. he was a free agent after a year of playing in OKC and could have played anywhere he wanted and he liked playing with Westbrook so much that he didn't even take a meeting with the Lakers when they wanted to talk to him.

He would’ve lost money had he left OKC. The most money was with OKC!

How about we take George's word for it on why he started leaning towards OKC to reup.

"
"Russ [Westbrook] is the reason why this decision is becoming [even] easier to make, is the character Russ [has]," George told ESPN's Rachel Nichols.

OKC could only offer $3M than anyone else. That's nothing. You think an NBA player is going to stay in a city he hates for only $3M total (not per year)?

"The difference in what the Thunder can offer relative to everybody else on a three-year deal is negligible (“only” a little under $3 million total), but if George doesn’t want to commit long-term or move, he can sign a three-year, $98.1 million contract with a $35.1 million player option in 2020-21"

so at this point it's about where Westbrook is going...no if he's leaving.

For sure. I think Miami makes the most sense because on those big expiring contracts and Riley I think can get Russ to modify his game finally.

If not Miami prior to the season, I think they sit him until December and trade him when those contracts signed this off-season become traceable. Knicks, Orlando, Hornets make sense.

Thunder did right by Burks by letting him back out of their agreement. I think he will do well with GS
