A Georgia father shot dead his daughter's boyfriend after officials say the man put a bullet in the woman's back during a heated argument early Sunday morning.
Authorities in Hall County say Floyd Rusk, 57, came to the defense of his daughter, 22-year-old Jessica Rusk, when she was attacked by her boyfriend, 25-year-old Thomas 'TJ' McNulty, at the Rusk family's home in the 3400 block of Jet Wright Road in Gainesville.
According to the Hall County Sheriff's Office, McNulty, who has a young son with Ms Rusk, shot her in the back with a shotgun during a domestic dispute that erupted at around 4.30am Sunday.

The young couple and their toddler son lived in the basement of Floyd and Martha Rusk’s home, and it was Jessica’s mother who called 911 for help after the shooting, reported

While deputies were on their way to the scene, Mr Rusk reportedly grabbed a gun and shot McNulty, killing him. The 25-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jessica Rusk was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in stable condition and she is expected to make a full recovery.
So far, no charges have been filed against Floyd Rusk in connection to the deadly shooting, but it will by up to the district attorney to make the final determination following a review of the case.

McNulty and his girlfriend lived in the basement of her parents' home along with their young son
According to her social media posts, Jessica and TJ had been in a relationship since at least 2014 and welcomed their son in November 2015.
Investigators say the couple's child was home at the time of the shooting but was unharmed.
The station
WSB-TV revealed on Monday that McNulty was fired from his Information technology job two weeks before the shooting for bringing a gun to work.
His former boss at Twisted Pair LLc, Scott Corathers, said McNulty had lasted only about a week at his firm and was let go for violating company policy.
Corathers said the 22-year-old claimed he forget the firearm in his back pocket.
