At the end of the day, self-interest TRUMPS (pun intended) everything.
I wish Black folks voted on this notion over party allegiance. Perhaps we'd make some kinda progress.
Discussing self-interest is complex. The balance between what benefits us and what doesn’t is harder to assess compared to other groups. In one sense, a strong economy may be advantageous for us overall, but in another, Trump has actively worked to dismantle programs like 8A that support Black businesses. The Dow has risen significantly, which boosts all of our portfolios, but then Trump exonerates an officer involved in the killing of an unarmed Black child. My portfolio is up, but a young Black child the same age as my son was killed and there’s no justice, what’s greater?

This contrast makes weighing the benefits challenging.

@ronmch20 1. He was still mentally if not physically up to the job why would he be in a hurry to quit?
No, he wasn't
. There's ample video footage of him falling asleep at forums, misspeaking facts and/or gibberish, and losing his way around rooms.

@ronmch20 2. Was caused by price gouging and transportation disruptions at the ports, not by any Biden policy.
The primary reason is the injection of trillions of dolalrs into the economy. Nearly, 20% of the existing money supply was injected into the economy under Biden.

@ronmch20 3. Bi-Partisan deal to address the border was overwhelmingly passed by the Senate and killed without a vote by Trump and gutless Houose Republicans.
Yes, but the inflow over the years, I believe, varied from one administration to the next. The Repugs did do as you claimed ,but as the border overseer, she could be stronger on this issue. I'll give this argument

@ronmch20 4. Both disagreed with the policies of the other but viewed Trump as the bigger threat.
Despite that, this does not help her image, as their legacy was that of WAR, MORE WAR, and MORE WAR. They lied and cost American soldiers their lives and this country money, and global alliance divestment.

@ronmch20 5. Didn't shit on all black men. He rightfully called out the dumb ass who shirk their familial responsibilities.
Did you not see the backlash from everyday Black folks who pushed back on him? Even those who were democratic supporters did not favor him on this public demeaning.

@ronmch20 6. Like that would have changed one red neck's opinion of her and switched their vote.
Everyday folks want to see her as one of them. Perhaps this may not have won her the election, but it would have helped her public image. She came off as an elitist.

@ronmch20 7. Gross exaggeration. By most accounts she accorded herself very well and spit facts not bullshit.
C'mon man, even CNN was calling her shit out, and they are her biggest promoters.

@ronmch20 8. Her only major switch was on fracking, and she had to if she hoped to win over Pa. voters who depended heavily on it.
Fracking, building the border wall, gun buyback program, EV mandates, and Medicare. Research it!

@ronmch20 9. Only Republicans and the ignorant refer to it as the "Democrat" Party like that is some sort of pejorative. It is the Democratic Party. Is the Republican Party ever referred as the "Republic Party?

I'm not a replbliklan bruh. Just someone who doesn't ally himself with colors and parties. Black first.

Food for thought.
Again, I don't have a definitive response, as this is a very complex moral dilemma.

At the end of the day, I am a good-hearted person and believe in equality and fairness despite how naive and silly it may seem.
I'll choose to be a good person over gains.

Guys on here believe voting on self interest, even if doing so to create more jobs for Black folks ,makes you a coon. Their thinking is really that simplistic. There is no way to move Black interests forward except through the Democratic Party.

They are allowing themselves and their legacy to be completely dominated by what white Democratic leadership tells them is important.

In the interest of Chaos I am intrigued how and if Project 2025 is a real thing. Four years from now WILL Trump really leave?

Shows like TYT and Bill Maher did NOT help Democrats. Platforming conservative voices with very little to no push back. Stating that they would write in Bernie Sanders and then praising their listeners who would do the same. Politicians and the shows like them eat their own. The talk of Biden losing, Biden should have stepped down, he's too old, etc... Only to give Kamala like 4months to win a Presidency that Trump has been running for the last 4YEARS!!! Faux News and the further right ones fall in line. Megan Kelley, Tucker Carlson and those like them fell in line. That doesn't happen on the left.

I still stand by my belief that we (black people) aren't going to get what we need until we get our own SuperPAC and start buying our own politicians Democrats and Republicans.

Democrats put Kamala in to lose. They forced Biden out because he was too inept. If he is too inept to run for president, why did he remain president? We did not see Biden speak after that debate. Our economy was collapsing and we were involved in wars but Biden was hidden away. If Democrats really wanted Kamala to win, and they really wanted to make history with a Black female, they would have had Biden step down as president. Then Kamala would have ran as an incumbent president. Republicans are racist, but yall sleeping on the Democrats. They have a different flavor of racism. Watch when the numbers come out on how many white female Democrats voted for Trump.Watch how silent they will be on it.

I'm not a replbliklan bruh. Just someone who doesn't ally himself with colors and parties. Black first.

For someone who says he's not a Republican seems all your negativity is directed at Biden, Harris and the Democratic Party in general. Where is your inciteful takedown of a Republican Party that since the 60's has historically and blatantly been against every legislative initiative aimed at improving the lives of minorities. I agree the Democratic Party could have, and should have, done more but the other party is so much worse and in a two-party system the choice should be obvious as to which one should be supported with your vote.

For all those black and brown naysayers who just bitched and complained about the Democrats, or chose to just sit it out, or in some cases actually supported a 99% white Republican/MAGA party that will for the next two to four years control all three branches of government, it will become crystal clear in the very near future whether they made a mistake or not. :hmm:

there was no win in this election so you shouldn't feel a certain way.

your last paragraph is what I said all along. you need power and leverage to get your way in this country. no one is going to give you shit otherwise.

would you vote for Candace Owens? born from two actual black people.

if not, you are racist and sexist
You're just saying stuff, why do you keep using Candice Owens as your example, Candice Owens hates black so she has reasons other than being a woman and black as to why people won't vote for her.

Explain to my why COVID was the reason

The election was in the middle of Covid. We were going through an economic downturn, vaccinations and masks were a very hot and debated topic, and Trump held a very unpopular position of blaming China. Even with this, the election was close. Prior to Covid, the economy was good and social issues was the hot topic. Actually Trump did a much better job than expected as President prior to COVID and Biden did a worse job than expected.

Watch when the numbers come out on how many white female Democrats voted for Trump.Watch how silent they will be on it.
Here is some very loose math I did:
  • There are approximately 110 million white women in the U.S. not sure what percent actually vote but in this scenario, I will assume 100% for simplicity.
  • Nearly 70% of them reportedly voted for Donald Trump.
  • This means around 77 million white women supported Trump (70% of 110M).
  1. Breakdown by Party Affiliation:
    • Of these 110 million white women, 52 million identify as Democrats.
    • Assuming all 58 million white Republican women voted for Trump, that accounts for 58 million of the 77 million votes.
    • This leaves around 19 million white Democratic women who also voted for Trump (77M total Trump votes - 58M Republican women = 19M Democratic women).
  2. Black Women:
    • The Black population is approximately 41 million.
    • Assuming half are women although could be more, that’s around 21 million (rounding) Black women.
    • If 90% of Black women voted for Kamala Harris, that means about 18 million Black women voted for her.
  3. Comparison of Voting Impact:
    • In this scenario, the 19 million or 37% of white Democratic women who voted for Trump offsets the 18 million or 90% of Black women who voted for Kamala Harris.
This comparison suggests that white Democratic women can’t be trusted. Stop shaking there hands and attending there women empowerment functions. They birth, raise, and support these white predators, narcissists, etc.

This wasn't an unpopular opinion because most people were agreeing with him so no COVID was not the reason
Americans’ views of China have continued to sour, according to a new Pew Research Center survey. Today, 73% of U.S. adults say they have an unfavorable view of the country, up 26 percentage points since 2018. Since March alone, negative views of China have increased 7 points, and there is a widespread sense that China mishandled the initial outbreak and subsequent spread of COVID-19.

Around two-thirds of Americans (64%) say China has done a bad job dealing with the coronavirus outbreak
