Back in 1989 when "soul to soul" debuted as a group, I had no idea they were British at the time. At that time for some reason I always thought they were American based on the afro centric style and image which was was popular back in the very early 90's.

Well anyway RIP.

I was never fortunate to meet Daddae Harvey, but I did meet the other Soul II Soul founder, Jazzy B, in his studio and chop it up a while. I remember feeling like I've filled a bucket list item, same as when I met the goat teddy riley. The importance of this band/group/sound system can never be understated. The members were proven to be immensely talented as they spread throughout the music industry, working with others and creating magic. From caron wheeler and jazzyB to nelle hooper's work with Bjork. To have the words founding member of Soul II Soul next to your name is a great achievement and music legacy.
Rest in Peace brotha Philip Daddae Harvey, thank you for the music and the movement.
