He must not realize how strict NY gun laws are and that it's a shall issue state meaning even if you pass all the requirements to legally purchase a firearm, the county can still deny your request at their discretion. That shit has roots in racism just like many of the Jim Crow Era laws implemented to keep firearms out of the hands of black people.
