Ray Kroc wiped the original McDonald's founders out of history ( Movie Trailer )

This was mentioned a bit in the food series, The Food That Built America.
The brothers were short sighted and not visionaries.
Kroc saw the potential in it and the rest is history.
Crazy thing about Kroc, is that he let the brothers keep the original McDonalds, then built one of his, right next door to it, eventually closing the brothers original store down for good :smh: .

just rewatched the film.

I was inspired by and understood both sides of the story.
The McDonald Brothers worked hard and put the time in to recognize the main things that they do well..3 items (burgers, fries, soda) they focused on a system that can replicate those items in the most efficient and speedy way while delivering a cost effective but satisfying product in a family friendly atmosphere and they were satisfied with doing well for themselves and serving their community.

Ray Kroc was a 52 year old struggling salesman who regularly travelled across the country experiencing the worst that restaurants have to offer and recognized something great when he saw it..he had the huge vision, the persistence, ambition (and ultimately..greed) that the brothers lacked in order to take McDonalds to the level that it is now.

Yeah that was just dickish...thumbing them in the eye and putting extra salt in the wound after he already took everything from them

that plus not honoring the "handshake deal" granting them the royalties...although they were fools to trust a dude giving them his "word" when he showed that he didn't even respect written contracts

Dick and Mack being short-sighted and Kroc looking deeper makes you question if Kroc is really the villain in this whole situation.

Considering that he used their restaurant and their formula to make all that money while simultaneously screwing them makes it a yes as to him being the villain. It's not like he cured cancer or some shit that truly made the world a better place in order to justify his shadiness

And the fact that Dick and Mack sold their Speedee System to their competitors (Burger King, Taco Bell and others) for basically leftover scraps.
I can't remember the price, but I think it was for $1000.
