Re: Sherman Hemsley, TV's George Jefferson, dead, according to TMZ

Damn...sorry to hear that one.

Rest in peace

R.I.P Sherman Hemsley a.k.a George Jefferson u made it fashionable to call somebody a Honkey!!!!!! so in memory of u somebody will get called a Honkey today!!!!

:smh::(:(:(:(
R.I.P., I grew up on this man. As long as I had an 8pm bedtime, the Jefferson's (and later ) AMEN were the last television I saw every night before bed. :(

Re: Sherman Hemsley, TV's George Jefferson, dead, according to TMZ

He "moved on up", where they're "shining the light". "Amen!"

:yes::yes::yes:

Rest In Paradise -- feels like a piece of me has died also. Thanks for everything Sherman!

Once again, RIP Sherman!

Something else about the cast... and I know that I, for one, am late in knowing this; but I wonder if everyone else knows that the late Michael Evans (Lionel Jefferson #1 in the picture on the right) was the creator of "Good Times", and when he left the Jeffersons for a few years, it was to work on the production of the show (came back as Lionel when it went off the air).

Everyone from that show is dead except for Florence, Jenny Willis, Ralph the doorman & the second Lionel.

I remember watching him on All in the Family as a kid with my pops. Then he got his own show and inspired many young kids to start their own business and don't take any shit from these Honkeys.

RIP

R.I.P My Dude..

I always preferred watching the Jefferson's over good times...:money:

This is it. This is that George Jefferson dance. It seems like all the great comics had their own dance. Redd Foxx, Bill Cosby and Mr. Hemsley. I remember we used to call this dance The George Jefferson.

We thank you for the laughs, the good times and the memories.

Damn I can't believe another of my favorites is gone. This man reminded me so much of my Dad it's not even funny. Matter of fact he was a huge fan of Sherman also. You are already missed Sherman. R.I.P. Brotha...:smh:

I knew he did not have long. Every time I would watch on centric, I would think about it. Well, R.I.P.

Great character, great cultural concept for a T.V. show at that time, and from what I hear, a great person.
we truly are losing all of the tv favorites we grew up on...once Bill Cosby goes it's a wrap
Yep, pretty much. I cringe at the thought.
Ok I never , NEVER heard this one! Sammy Davis Jr?!

Me neither. Loved the one for the show, though. Much more soulful.
Once again, RIP Sherman!

Great piece of history. Would have never thunk it.:yes:
