Cool.
I'm wondering when Twitter became a reputable news source?

- im telling you, around the middle of 2008, there was this "twitter" media blitz it was all over CNN and sports programming: "follow us on twitter!" they basically FORCED people to hop on twitter...anyway

that dude still was gone from the show for almost an hour...that's not normal for any awards program i don't give a damn what anybody says :smh:

That just makes it a trend, not a credible news source. It's become the new vehicle for attention whores and fools.

I don't know about that. When I used to watch these shows with any regularity, it wasn't unusual for the host to not be seen again for extended periods of time so they could fit in all types of shenanigans and bullshit plus hand out awards. It might have been more noticeable because people were waiting for him to come back out and roast someone else.
I give Gervais the benefit of the doubt because he's not one of those actor/comedian types begging for someone else to give him work. He's not just talent, he's an executive with the awards, ratings, and money to back him up. If he says the atmosphere was great, it probably was. This is Hollywood we're talking about. A place known for being fake as shit. Even the one producer who spoke out, did he say that shit to Ricky that night or to the media the next day?

If they let the Applebee's audience decide, he won't be back.

If they are smart, he WILL be back. If they are smart, they suddenly take their bullshit also-ran awards show and make it the must see event of 2012, with bigger ratings than the Oscar's.

Easy win here. I wonder if they are too stupid to take it.

Did Robert Downey in that 1st video say "They can get it" in regards to all those women in the category? :lol:

And :lol: @ the ungrateful Steve Carrell. :lol:

:lol: @Thanking god for making him a atheist.

He went IN on those celebs. If I had known that shit I would've watched. :lol: I know he pissed those CAC's off out there. He'll probably never be able to host that shit again. :lol: Good luck to whoever has to host it after him. :lol:

he wont be back..

Ricky Gervais Says He Won't Host The Golden Globes Again
Posted by Mitch Michaels on 01.18.2011

Ricky says twice is enough...

Ricky Gervais isn't worried he won't be asked back to host the Golden Globes, because he's "not gonna do it again anyway."

Gervais told TMZ this morning in New York, "I think twice is enough."

Gervais also commented on his fellow comics sticking by him, saying, "Well, it's nice to be loved by your peers ... they stick by you."

can you imagine if paul mooney were to host :lol:

Why do they keep hiring comedians and then get mad when they crack jokes? Newflash: everyone does not bow down at the altar of Celebrity and some people even make a living poking fun at it. Get off your own dick and get a sense of humor. He's only telling jokes to your face that EVERYONE is saying behind your back.
WORD The Fuck Up!
So laugh with the joke or get laughed @
:lol:Carrell no-selling it made it even funnier.

To Me, that's that man's true Genius on some straightman shit;

Listen, personally, I've tried, on multiple occasions to give him the benefit of the doubt, watching his version of the American syndication & on other productions in tv & the movies;

that man literally makes me laugh like 10-15% of the time, maybe less without being the straightman; I know what he's trying for but he's just not too funny;

I gotta track down some versions of the ORIGINAL show as that Extras shit had me :roflmao2: as Gervais captures that PatheticMan down perfectly!
Pieces of that InventionOfLying had me :roflmao2: also last night; the camerawork/production/cameraman with them bugged out, awkward zooms on ALL the Office joints needs his own award also :lol:

Remember, he's walking away, on some executive shit so I hope the Demand makes them come after him when that shit gets corny again;

PaulMooney's career was & is based on jokes/timing/off humor like this & he'd shut the shit DOWN with the FCC in the wings Ready & the :15 delay in place; he's the Godfather of that shit & will make the best comedian/funny actor step their game up & dfig deep to keep up with the timing;
he' NEVER be invited for that very reason;
Too rawdog & :roflmao2:
Straight Roast general

Its just the jokes, baby so getdownorlaydown lol

I gotta go make a pic of Gervais standing in front of the screen with Carrell & them fake celebrating on Pause with Carrell with the straight face not too far in front :eek::lol:

If we're talking about Carrell, I think he's hysterical. I thought he was funny on The Daily Show and "The Office", even with one of the best ensembles ever, works because of Carrell's portrayal of Michael Scott.

The ensemble makes it work for me as he's hit or miss with the character; like the Suprise HappyBDay
Its ehh; maybe if I wasnt aware of the Original & how Gervais does it, I'd give Carrell more of the benefit.
Im a fan of BobNewhart from back in the day, though.

We could start a whole other thread about Bob Newhart.:D

For me, Carrell's Michael Scott is a perfect character: he's a grown man that thinks and acts like a child because his childhood was so fucked up. That's a character that people meet all the time in real life.
I've seen the original and I love it but I think Scott is a better character than Gervais' David Brent because you end up wanting to like Michael but David's just an asshole.

See, I HAVE to do more research on BOTH the shows & reserve any judgement til afterwards, Fam;
Good Info so will keep the jury out & keep giving kat chances.

That's why I love that dude role (Steve Carrell) on The Office...you know he's being funny but you can't tell it from his face...he does his shit so seriously and straight-faced it's hilarious...his planned deadpan reaction is what made the "roast" in that vid so funny

He was a jobing actor, career not going that good if I can be totally honest, who got his big break when I cast him in a remake of a show that I created call The Office. He's now leaving that show and killing a cash cow for both of us, please welcome the wonderful the ungrateful Steve Carell

:roflmao2::roflmao2::roflmao2::roflmao2:

He went to the Leslie Neilsen school of acting.

Ricky Gervais is a genius.

Steve Carell is a different "Office" manager than Ricky was as David Brent on the BBC Office. Both are great, Ricky was supreme though. A completely original character.

However, I think Ricky's Extras series on HBO was the best of all. If you haven't seen it, get it!

Not really very funny. Still an extrememly boring awards show as most are.
