He not just recognized for being the first but to show how to break the standard facing trials and tribulations in a time where it wasn't warranted in those struggling times He fell but he accomplished a dream. He even out performed the starting QB, 1600yrds/14passTD/13Int/308rush yards/3rushTD to 700/5/8/2/0.
Led the team in passing, 2nd in rushing.
Instead of building on those rookie numbers, the next season he was shipped out to cold azz Buffalo to be a WR. - MAGA

Nick Sabans' dad, Lou Saban, was the Broncos coach who shipped him out of town. He felt that blacks were not as intelligent and could not master the intricacies of the QB position.
Jacked up. I played HS football in the 80's and was a good student of my state's teams and players. Everyone knew who was the best teams and players. All the 4A, 3A, state champions was led by black QB's and majority teams. They always moved these legends to WR or DB or send them to 1AA conference.
He didn’t get shipped out, Briscoe told the Broncos to fuck off and asked to be traded.
