I don't think I'll be able to find a replacement for my 6p. The size of this phone, fingerprint sensor on the back and the dual front speakers makes this phone perfect! I could never go back to one speaker at the bottom, not happening. Me and my 6p will never part

Too bad the days of the free phone plan are gone.:smh:
Which carrier are you with? I had two lines with sprint one I never really used so a few weeks back I called to cancel one line and the lady said that I qualify for a free galaxy 7 or iphone 7 to get me to stay. But I still canceled. Call and act like you're going to cancel your service.

At the Galaxy Tab S3 unveiling last month, Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy S8 would come with earphones tuned by AKG in the box. The company offered a look at the earphones on-stage, and the same earphones have now appeared in newly leaked images. This is the first time we’re seeing these in the flesh; the earphones have a new, more stylish design that is befitting of earphones for a flagship device, with a braided cable instead of the regular plastic cable Samsung has been using until this point.

There’s no telling how good these earphones will sound unless someone gets to test them, but they will hopefully be significantly better than the earphones Samsung has offered with its flagships in recent years. See more images at the source link, and let us know what you think of Samsung’s new AKG earphones!

The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ are undoubtedly the most leaked flagship devices in recent history. And the leaks aren't stopping. Over the weekend new press renders for the duo surfaced alongside pricing information, and today Samsung itself decided to make the Bixby virtual assistant official - even if we're still nine days away from the big S8 unveiling event.

This time around we're showing you some leaked promotional materials for the two handsets. As you can see, nothing depicted in these images is really new or surprising, given how many times we've already glanced at the S8 and S8+.

gsmarena_002.jpg

The minimal bezels are there, along with the rounded screen corners, curved edges, additional button on the left side for Bixby, as well as the big camera and sensor array on the top (since the S8 and S8+ will have an iris scanner like the ill-fated Galaxy Note7).

The things you'd expect to be missing from the front of the devices based on previous leaks are all, well, still missing - the physical Home button, the capacitive Back and Recents buttons, and the Samsung logo.

The Galaxy S8 will have a 5.8-inch touchscreen, while the S8+ will come with a 6.2-inch panel, both Super AMOLED and sporting an odd 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8895 will power the phones (which you get depends on market), and we're expecting to see a 12 MP main camera with insanely high-fps video capture on the back next to the new location of the fingerprint scanner. The smaller model is to have a 3,000 mAh battery, while the larger S8+ will boast a 3,500 mAh cell. 64GB of storage should come as standard, along with a USB Type-C port in each device. The handsets will run Android Nougat.

Samsung makes Galaxy S8′s Bixby voice assistant official

We exclusively reported a long time back that the Galaxy S8 is going to feature a virtual assistant called Bixby which will be more capable than the likes of Siri and Cortana. Samsung has officially confirmed this artificial intelligence-powered smart assistant today.

The core philosophy that drove Samsung to develop Bixby is to have a machine learn and adapt to the user instead of users having to learn how the machine works and interacts with the world.

The interface had to be natural and intuitive enough to eliminate the learning curve even when new functions are added to it rapidly. Samsung employed artificial intelligence and reinforced deep learning concepts to the core of its user interface designs and Bixby is the result of that ongoing effort.

Samsung confirms that Bixby is going to be its new intelligent interface on its devices and that it’s fundamentally different from other voice assistants available currently. The company points out three areas of strength that give Bixby an edge over its rivals.

It describes one of them as “Completeness.” When an app is Bixby-enabled, the assistant will be able to carry out almost every task via voice commands that the app is capable of performing via touch input. Since most voice assistants only support selected tasks for an app this can often lead to confusion about what can and can’t be done with voice commands. Samsung says that this completeness property of Bixby will make it very easy for users to learn the true capabilities of the voice assistant.

Bixby is also going to have Context Awareness. When users are in a Bixby-enabled app, they will be able to call upon the assistant at any time and it will automatically understand the current context and state of the app. It will enable users to use multiple modes of interactions like touch or voice depending on the context and whichever the users feel is more comfortable.

Cognitive Tolerance is also one of Bixby’s strengths. Some users might struggle to remember the exact form of voice commands as the number of supported voice commands increases. Bixby is said to be smart enough to understand commands that have incomplete information and will be able to execute the relevant task to the best of its knowledge. It will then prompt users to provide more information as and when required. Samsung says that this makes the interface more natural and easier to use.

Samsung has confirmed today that Bixby will debut with the Galaxy S8. The new flagship is going to come with several Bixby-enabled apps pre-installed. The number of Bixby-enabled apps will expand over time and Samsung eventually plans to release an SDK which will enable third-party developers to make their own apps that work with Bixby.

The company also confirmed that its next device – which we all know to be the Galaxy S8 – is going to have a dedicated Bixby button that’s going to be located on the side. This will make it easy to summon the assistant and make voice commands. For example, if you want to make a call, instead of having to turn on the display, unlock the phone, opening the phone app and then the contacts section to find the person you want to call, you just need to press the Bixby button and tell it to dial the person.

Samsung added that it will gradually add Bixby to all of its appliances as well. Users will be able to control their air conditioner or TV through Bixby in the future. As it will be implemented in the cloud, all a Samsung device needs to work with Bixby is an internet connection and “simple circuitry to receive voice inputs.”

Samsung will talk more about the many features of Bixby in detail on March 29 when it unveils the Galaxy S8.

Its the same thing that happened with the Note. They tried it as a novelty and it took off. They didn't expect the form factor to outsell the regular flat version but it did.

People like what they like.
I just brought the note 5:smh::crying: I needed a phone & sprint has been really fuking me over so much so they gave me a $40 phone bill credit, waved the $30 activation fee, & the $10 shipping. As much as I would love to get the note 8 I cant wait till it comes out. or maybe I just dnt want to wait.... Im sick of my iphone 5c. :crymeariver: I brought a note 4 but it was a fake:fuckyousay: so now Im waiting on my note like:hellyea::fuckyousay:.

I found out a lot about how samsung releases phones & so-forth.

no removable memory ........is a big fukin deal for the note 5! IF it had removable memory:itsawrap: that would make the non removable battery something you wouldnt really give a shit about. The note 5 kinda comes off like a iphone version of the note on a android platform. the 7 was a beast but the battery shit fuked it up! I would have gotten that shit. I'll be happy with what I got for a min....

wont be buying anymore used phones:tut:

Wait they doing the wrap-around screen on both models? Pass. The screen loses its novelty especially if you're the type to like operating your phone with one hand. Your palm rubbing against the screen causing it to register false inputs will get annoying. Happened to me when I had the S6 Edge

You can turn the edge stuff off, but I agree with you I don't like the shape of the phone because it always feels like a wet bar of soap to me; like it's going to squirt out of my hand. Anyway, the Note is my shit. I'll try to hold off until it drops. Because I had a Note 7 and had to return it Samsung claims I'll be first in line for a Note 8. We'll see.

I'm a little bummed about the curved screen with the S8. I have the flat S7 and still my palm will sometimes touch the screen cause I have large hands.

However I heard they made it better with the Note 7 but I don't remember if I ever held one to see the difference.

I also like what LG did with the LG G6. Might have to check that one out as well.
