Go back to the mp3 music blog Era Chance been grinding for YEARS. Trap Queen was an OLD RECORD. Same with the Lizzo track. Swift parents are rich as f(ck. Takeshi had a huge internet following and got in with a big European plug.
So I say all that to say listen of course the industry pushes and supports a chosen few. So yes there are industry plants But we also seen the public say NOPE. We know there industry plants, sports plants, fashion plants, etc etc etc.

But some artists labeled as plants is completely unfair cause it implies they ain't work hard to get here.

Big Krit was crazy hyped at one time dropped a classic and fumbled he admitted that on a few interviews. Yeah he nice and been ghost writing hits. But he had find his sound and sometimes the fan base don't wait.
Tobe is mad hot but he has his own specific fan base too and in his own way successful. And trust has gotten much "industry help"

Snoop isnt judged off his music anymore. Hasnt been for a long time. He became the most famous rapper of all time based off the way he marketed himself like u said. But that early Death Row work definitely deserved all the praise it got. Doggystyle was probably one of the most anticipated rap albums of all time. I remember when it came out and my sister was trying to buy a copy from the record store. It was sold out for like two weeks. Could you imagine not being able to get a new album the day it came out these days? Because of streaming, we will ever experience something like that again. The nigga went platinum in first 2 weeks.... and thats physical copies.
