I'm not talking lose anything
I'm saying business wise brand wise publicity wise they may regret not continuing that partnership.
we will see its early still

Not at all here in NYC. Nike got ASG pop up shops and events around the city for the last weeks and even before. All ive been hearing from adidas is just kanya and none of the adidas all star players. Publicity for the ASG weekend in NYC nike is killing adidas.

Kanye only reaches a certain demographic. Kanye is going to be like their Y3 line. He's an influencer, but how many are going to pay $350 for a sneaker?

Something like a Jordan touches all demographics, from China and the Philippines to the suburbs and inner cities of america.

When Kanye was getting love in the sneakerhead community he was wearing Jordan 1's and 8's and wearing polo. Now he's wearing tight leather pants and skirts.

Plus they would never put out a Kanye in Derrick Rose or John Wall numbers.

Well damn...no wonder Nike decided to sever that relationship. I thought that partnership was mutually beneficial...and both brands would grow from it not only in sales but influence. Msn was I wrong. ..just a while back my little cousin were crying for those yeezys.

More people wanted the 10s that dropped yesterday than cared about Kanye's shoe. Nike let Man U walk to Adidas...they not giving a shit about Kanye, which is a lofty investment for Adidas paying a billion for their rights. If Nike gets the NBA deal, they'll really put a foothold on everyone else. Kanye fucked up going to Adidas the D.Wade route would be better, but I'm sure he couldn't get high end fashion from either of those Asian companies.

I don't know Kanye but I agree with your post...he craves so much acceptance form the establishment when I think he COULD have ventured out on his own taken the risk and start something new different and entirely his own.

His fan base is there the market is there and the money is there. And based on the response to tthe yeezys I think the respect was there too.

Tracking the Resell Price of the adidas Yeezy 750 Boost

As what is sure to be the biggest sneaker release of 2015, it is hardly surprising that Kanye West‘s adidas Yeezy 750 Boost has caused pandemonium on the sneaker resell market. For an exclusive insight into the resell value of the blockbuster shoe, we hooked up with sneakerhead data resource Campless, who have tracked the Yeezy 750 Boost’s average resell price across a variety of third-party platforms – from eBay and Facebook to dedicated resell channels like Flight Club and Solecollector. Illustrator Dan Freebairn of KickPosters then created original infographics exclusively for Highsnobiety.

For an exclusive insight into the resell value of Kanye West's Yeezy 750 Boost, we hooked up with sneakerhead data resource Campless, who have tracked the sneaker's average resell price across a variety of third-party platforms.

kanye-yeezy-resell-price-11-864x576.jpg

From this first infographic we can see that the Yeezy 750 Boost is commanding anywhere between $1,200 and $2,185 on the resell market – with an average of $1,573 across all channels, including eBay, Facebook, Flight Club and more.

Breaking down the shoes to hit eBay through February 15 – a total of 535 pairs hit the site, 50% of which were sold at an average price of $1,496 – the most expensive of which went for an exorbitant $5,400.

kanye-yeezy-resell-price-2-864x576.jpg

We see here that the amount of Yeezy 1s and 2s hitting eBay sharply increased on the weekend of the shoe’s release – with a total of 121 pairs hitting the site on February 14. Hardly surprising given the Yeezy hysteria that has gripped the sneakerhead world since the shoe’s release.

kanye-yeezy-resell-price-040-864x576.jpg

Campless also provided a detailed breakdown of the run-up of events that led to the sneaker’s release – from Kanye’s first announcement of his signing with adidas back in November 2013, right up to the sneaker’s release on Valentine’s day.

While the sneaker’s average price is far from the dizzying heights scaled by the Yeezy 2 series – whose Black/Solar Red and Red October colorways fetch over $2,500 on the resell market – the Yeezy 750 Boost’s $1573 average resell price is still a 450% markup on retail, which is similar to the markup fetched by the Yeezy 1 and 2 when they were initially released.

With a further batch of the shoe scheduled for release in March, and Kanye himself promising that everyone who wants to get a pair will be able to eventually, it’s unlikely the Yeezy 750 will hit the extravagant price tags of its predecessors. With Kanye claiming in recent interviews that he aims to democratize fashion with his adidas line, it is likely that this latest installment of Yeezy sneakers will be one of the easiest of the series to acquire.

??? The drop at all star weekend sold out in a matter of minutes at 9,000 pairs. The resell value is already between 1200-2000 on average. Of course more kids would want the 10's, they're not almost $400 after tax and was much easier to obtain. Yeezy's touch every end of the globe so much the asians are already trying to make knock offs and sell them for more than what they retail at. Nike was dumb to not agree to give Ye royalties.

False

Steph Curry could sell more sneakers than Kanye, and they let him go

Nike doesn't need Kanye, he has a niche sneaker.

And people making knockoffs doesn't mean shit. They're selling to get of that resell value.

Never said they needed Ye but at the same time he is the reason limited releases sky rocketed in resell value. As far as Steph selling more, maybe.... Just purely off the fact his shoes would be mass produced while Yeezys wouldn't be. Asians don't waste time making knock offs for shit that is not wanted by the masses. Yeezy made glow in the dark popular for Nike, Yeezy made the solar color popular for Nike. They don't need him but they sure did eat off his releases and his ideas so much they featured them on a number of other Nike shoes.

They won't reach Nike's resell prices. Giving Ye a deal like he wanted doesn't follow Nike's business model & we see...he didn't get nowhere near the control he claimed to have gotten at first. They'll be aight. NBA in their sights...

Pure bullshit

They make knockoffs because they can. They're able to make them for a couple of dollars, so any amount is straight profit.

They were selling fake shit when the resell market wasn't even what is today. I remember I got got on ebay for some fake white cement III's like a decade ago.

They didn't make that shit popular, they made it popular for hypebeast. That's the only people who care about gimmicks on sneakers. The average person doesn't care about any of that shit. That's why I said he has a niche appeal for sneakers. Most of the people who want them just want them to resell anyway.

And sneakers had glow before Kanye. Kanye used what was already in Nike's kitchen. Thus the Jordan III/Revolution and Tech Challenge soles.

A decade ago Cement 3's were still wanted by the masses. A decade ago I used to cut school to go cop the newest J's and there would be long ass lines. Do they make knock off New Balance? Lol btw I'm hearing 60k pairs of Yeezys online in the morning, bet they sell out fast but pretty sure the site will crash.

Anybody that pays that much money for that ugly ass shoe is a corny ass follower, and just as corny as the namesake. I would buy some yeezy studio equipment or some shit like that..but what real nigga would want to make the statement that they cosign Ye. I think he be punking the world by just seeing if he can make the dumbest shit and have niggas in line to buy it. All you have to do is say something is somewhat exclusive and put a high price on it and watch niggas flock. smh. To each his own though..that's just my opinion.

sooooo Yeezy's sold out within 30 mins with their site crashing badly

Site was crashed at 11CST, it never worked. All 56k sold out? There's a reason they're not releasing them in stores...this "crashing site" stuff plays well into the exclusivity.

For a dude that frequents the Sneakerhead thread you sure seem out of touch bruh. I would expect these kinds of posts from the strictly hard bottoms crowd, I don't even know where to begin. it's 1:30 in the afternoon and the adidas site is moving like molasses, and that's if you can even get it to load.

I saw someone in here say more people wanted the X's that dropped more than the Yeezy's :smh:
