This knife was created by a scuba diver, for scuba divers, to give divers a last-line-of-defense tool to defend themselves against aggressive sharks. Other than the 'bang stick' which, for legal and practical reasons, almost no one ever carries, divers have no tools to stop an aggressive shark once it starts to attack. Regular dive-knives and dive-spears will not do enough damage to the shark to stop the attack, chemical deterrents are useless, and the promising electronic and acoustic deterrents stopped being developed decades ago. This knife does enough internal damage to the shark to give the diver a chance (not a certainty, but at least a chance) to repel the shark and survive the attack.
