This is sad. I wish people who commit suicide gave tomorrow a chance and realized that things get better than your worst day.
While I do not know what their lives were like to get them to that state, I do know that life can be a cruel and unforgiving world. So do I. But we also have to understand that we do NOT know what their lives were like to get them to that state. This can be a cruel unforgiving world.

I have no problem telling people the only reason that I haven't punched my own ticket was a meeting I had back in 2004.
I asked this nurse I was hitting on where she worked, and she said she worked on the suicide Ward. I asked what that was and she said, "I work on a ward of people who attempted suicide and failed."
"That's a thing?"
She said, "Yes. One guy chewed on a shotgun, now he's quadriplegic. Another guy chewed on a 45, now he's quadriplegic. Another guy took a swan dive off of a 10-story building, now he's quadriplegic. Another guy took a bullet to the temple, now he's quadriplegic.
"All of them did something that for all intents and purposes should have killed them, but didn't. To a man, all of them are worse off now than they would have been had they just let life play out."
When she said that, my mouth dropped.
When I get to my worst day, I think, "What if I don't die? What if I just get really really fucked up, now I'm worse off now than I was before?"
And I back away from that thought.
It would be just my luck to have to live 50 more years trapped in a bed I can't get up from. I can imagine God saying, "Oh, you tried to take the life I gave you? See, I was going to have you live until 65, But now, you're going to live till 93 quadriplegic."
I look at my life now and I'm way better than where I came from. I'm so glad I didn't punch my own ticket. I wish a lot more people had experiences like I did, maybe they would still be here.
I've heard of people slashing their wrists and shit like that as far as failed suicide attempts, or people swallowing pills and having their stomach pumped. I hadn't heard about people doing shit that should have ended their life and didn't like with guns. Its tough man.
I am surprised you never heard of a failed suicide before?
You have heard about an attempted suicide?
Besides mental scars they can be devasting. I won't go into it on here but sadly much like you I have family in medicine and I guessing a way the AVERAGE person doesn't fully understand how many people lost limbs, have brain damage etc from failed suicide attempts.
And interesting thing? I have met a few who actually found MEANING from a failed attempt.
Humans are complicated as f*ck.
