I grew up in the FUNK era. That was the best music our people blessed this earth with!! The singing was outstanding!! However, the combination of instruments and the bass, made that music untouchable!! Nobody on this earth could tap into the soul like the copper color people!! WE ARE THE GUMBO & SPICE FOR THE WHOLE WORLD!! BUT, AIN'T NOBODY LISTENING!!!

someone help me out. I forgot what the name of it was, but there was a doc on HBO a while back about the house band for Motown and how the Motown Sound was created by them...it's gonna hit me sooner or later but it was a good watch.

Motown's House Band was The Funk Brothers.
