My mate is not a sports fan, but even she knew something was off yesterday.

She had no idea how off, until she went to work and everyone, especially people who are not avid or die hard sports fans, were talking about Stu.

I knew he was big, but I really had no idea how big with women.
Stu Scott first appearance on ESPN 2

I tell you like this, Olberman just about always knows what to say and how to say it.

He was the first anchor I admired from ESPN, because he always called them on their sh!t while working there AND after.

Salute to the legendary Stuart Scott. RIP my brother. You went out like a soldier. I truly commend him for his courage.

Respect to Rich Eisen & Hannah Storm for their genuine, heartfelt tributes. I was holding back tears till I watched Eisen's.....couldn't hold back no more.

:yes::yes::yes:

What I would LOVE to get more info on is when he was getting hated on and I mean getting a lot of heat WHY did ESPN stick with him?

what did this brother do to withstand all the backlash he was getting for ushering in a completely new style of broadcasting.

Cause I don not believer ANYONE could do that now ESPECIALLY with social media and political correctness how it is.

well OK then...he answered my question!!!

Dude is legend. To have touched so many people is pure legend. He seemed like by all accounts a great person, and not just a good TV personality. You won't hear Chris Berman when he passes spoken of in such a manner (I hear he is pure T arrogant asshole).

Still sad thinking that he passed, and his daughters ain't even grown - that's the worst. I didn't know the cat, and I was tearing up watching Rich Eisen telling the NFL Network world on air.

Celebrity deaths never really have much of an affect on me but this one does for many reasons. I'm 27 now and I vividly remember constantly watching sportscenter in the mid-late 90s and beyond and that being a soundtrack to my life. I decided to write this morning because I was watching sportscenter last night and this morning and something is just missing. When these big playoff games are played I guess I've just become accustomed to hearing Stuart Scott's highlight commentary and I guess it just hit me that we'll never get to hear it again, and that's a shame. As a sports fan I've seen ESPN (pretty much all I watch) change a lot over the years. But no matter what changes happened Stuart Scott's familiar voice was always there. I think I can speak for many others around my age when I say we all lost a part of our childhood. He seemed like a genuinely good dude. It's sad that it takes death for us to appreciate what people did and stood for. ESPN will never be the same.

Well said, fam'. I think what resonates heavily with Stu is that everyone recognized he was a fighter. He fought the disease valiantly, and was respected by his peers & the athletes they all covered. Cancer truly is a muthafucka and affects us all directly and/or indirectly over our lifetimes battling it ourselves, or seeing family members, friends, coworkers battle and/or succumb to it. A successful man in his 40s who now leaves behind 2 young daughters & decades worth of work. Rest in peace & condolences to all his loved ones.

R.I.P. Stuart Scott

:(:(:(

So true. he is a true legend and will truly be missed. He touched a lot of people all over the world

RIP Too bad he not getting the Arthur Ashe courage espy award... Why Catlyn Jenner

it is so sick that they are calling that courage. what Jenner did with a choice, a decision - even worse a publicity stunt. he's like an actor in costume. to call what he did courageous as an insult to anyone who has ever done anything courageous. I'm disgusted by the sound of his name and I'll call him Bruce for the rest of my fucking life
