Correct me if I'm wrong but kim wrote quiet storm herself. That alone is enough for me.

I'm not that hard on the writing thing with female mcs.

Because Apache wrote for Latifah, i think LL and her brother Milk wrote for Lyte, same for Salt and Pepa, Foxxy and Kim, even the best ever L Boogie had "help" with miseducation at least (allegedly) and i still believe Safaree "helped" Nicki at times.

Lil Kim had great features but fewer great songs and albums.

Speaking of gimmicks, let's not pretend that the pussy pic isn't what pushed lil Kim's notoriety. Not to mention being tied to Big.

She is damn superstar...

but those pop crossover records were huge and did what they were supposed to.

I WILL say she needs to evolve stylistically a little... but then EVERY TIME I hear that?

She jumps on another remix and KILLS it damn near EVERY TIME.

She just needs a better team MUSICALLY around her and I think this new persona she has chosen of angry screaming Black woman? And going at Cardi? is NOT a wise direction.

that megatron record was TOUGH, but people just don't LIKE her right now

and at this point its mostly HER FAULT.

I have never seen a successful HATED female rapper dudes can pull that off.

But I listen to a lot of music, Nicki included

And I enjoy a lot of her stuff, she fell off there for a hot minute.

and like I said I still defend her first mixtape as one of the best ever by a new artist.

She took the ultimate bitch/Diva act to the extreme to where it turns people off...

I didn’t listen to her first mixtape but I did listen to her first album just to see what it sounded like. From what I remember it was solid.

She’s definitely talented and makes some good music.

I don't know either of their catalogues very well but listening to them both over the years, I think of Lil Kim as having a nice flow and being able to hang with the men but I can't think of one lyrical verse or song from her or even a really hot bar. I haven't heard a Nicki Minaj song in years but I think her early stuff runs circles around anything Lil Kim ever did.
