Taraji P. Henson Fought for Drivers to Take ‘Color Purple’ Cast to Set After ‘They Gave Us Rental Cars,’ Told Oprah ‘We Gotta Fix This’ When No Food Was at Rehearsals

“They gave us rental cars, and I was like, ‘I can’t drive myself to set in Atlanta.’ This is insurance liability, it’s dangerous. Now they robbing people. What do I look like, taking myself to work by myself in a rental car?” Henson said. “So I was like, ‘Can I get a driver or security to take me?’ I’m not asking for the moon. They’re like, ‘Well, if we do it for you, we got to do it for everybody.’ Well, do it for everybody! It’s stuff like that, stuff I shouldn’t have to fight for. I was on the set of ‘Empire’ fighting for trailers that wasn’t infested with bugs.”

Black people didn’t give a shit about them awards until Denzel and Halle won it. Oscar’s were forever a racist award that denied or overlooked many black films and actors. It was very rare that any black films or people were showcased on that shit. Here and there they gave out handouts for supporting actor roles. But for the most part Oscar’s looked like a klan rally all white. Well their ratings fell to shit cause not only was it white only but it was boring ass shit. Black people in general didn’t watch that crap. So cacs said we need the negroes for viewership purposes and they gave out the handout Oscar’s for a chick saying make me feel good and getting smutted out by a senior citizen and from a Blackman playing a corrupted cop. Black people fell for the handout and watched that wack ass Oscar shit. For the most part it was never for us. Even when they give people that trophy it dosent mean shit if you black as far as roles and money. So just like b4 Denzel won it and after it’s always been and always will be fucked the Oscar’s. Never watched it never will
of course they do. taraji and the rest of them file too late to be nominated

Rapper 50 Cent references Mary J. Blige's income as supporting evidence to aid Taraji P. Henson

50 Cent is genuinely dedicated to supporting Taraji P. Henson. The rapper and actor recently utilized Instagram to demonstrate his loyalty to the Empire star, showcasing Mary J. Blige's earnings from Power Book II: Ghost.
On Instagram, 50 Cent recently shared that someone contacted him, mistakenly assuming he was joking about assisting Taraji P. Henson.

"Someone called me today thinking I was bullsh*ting about working with @tarajiphenson till I told them what I made STARZ pay @therealmaryjblige to be on GHOST"

50 Cent's post follows Henson's revelation that she dismissed her entire team for not capitalizing on the show's popularity. The rapper had previously communicated with Henson on social media, expressing his sentiments.

"They dropped the ball fvck em @tarajiphenson I’m ready to work let’s get it ! GLG GreenLightGang G-unit Film&Tv."

In the beginning of this month, Henson addressed the issue of pay disparity in Hollywood, particularly the unequal treatment faced by Black actresses. In an interview with the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, she voiced her discontent with her production team's inability to capitalize on the success of her character. The Golden Globe Award winner specifically pointed out their shortcomings in developing post-"Empire" plans, such as securing endorsements or commercial deals.

"Firing everybody after Cookie. Where is my deal? Where’s my commercial? Cookie was at the top of the fashion game. Where is my endorsement? They had nothing set up."

50 Cent's efforts to help Henson have been well-received by fans. The rapper has been praised for using his platform to help others in the industry.
50 Cent has recently weighed in on the ongoing legal battle between Terrence Howard and Creative Artists Agency (CAA) over the actor's salary for his role in the hit TV series Empire.

"Damn @theterrencehoward call my phone I will get you the money they was supposed to get for you."

Terrence Howard's legal battle with CAA over his salary for Empire has garnered attention from the hip-hop community, with 50 Cent offering his support to the actor. The lawsuit highlights the ongoing debate over the role of talent agencies in the entertainment industry, and the potential conflicts of interest that arise when agencies represent both talent and producers.
