The lat-lon coordinate system is a fixed mapping of the earth. These kats think you can just rotate the globe and the coordinates just stay the same. Like you mentioned, you have to adjust your latitudes.

If you go back and actually look at those struggle MS Paint charts he posted earlier, all of this shit sort of makes sense now. He doesn't understand that we use latitude/longitude to accurately describe exact locations on the globe. LA is indeed approximately 2500 miles from Hawaii but because he doesn't understand how depicting a spherical object on a flat map works in terms of scale etc. he is forced by his own stupidity to claim that ATL is 500 miles in distance (which he bizarrely claims is elevation for some reason) from LA.
The actual distance (2,000+ miles) doesn't fit the fucked up scale he created. The 500 miles thing really bothered me because surely no actual adult believes people live in space but it all makes sense if you turn off your brain and rely on MS paint and stupidity. I am sure he believes Greenland is larger than the continent of Africa as well because that is how it is depicted on a Mercator map.

I literally take boats and helicopters 200 or more miles offshore and you can see ships appearing over the horizon.

Most of the new generations of rigs and drillships don't use anchors to stay in place, they use thrusters and GPS. We need accurate weather forecasts to plan operations, lifts, deployment of heavy equipment etc. You wouldn't need any of this on a flat, stationary earth.

The fucking moon is upside down to me when I'm in South Africa, you can't have that on a flat earth, or the time I was in Angola for an eclipse but it wasn't visible in Europe which is in the same time zone.

The better argument would be we are living in a simulation and nothing is real. I can deal with that logic, but even if we are, in this simulation, the Earth is fucking round!

The only way I was able to understand the point he was trying to make was to just look at the map and ignore the text. I couldn't figure out where the fuck the 500 mile elevation came from until I just looked at the map and actually used his "grid system".

I think the 500 mile elevation comes from the fact that his globe has ATL "positioned" above LA so therefore ATL is 500 miles higher than ATL.
This whole thing is like interpreting my kids artwork. What is a wizard dancing in the forest to them looks like random paint on a page to actual adults...
