Y'all obviously don't get the fact that it is actual art. He's trying to express what happened years ago and the trauma of what happened still haunts him, it never ended. The incomplete line "put me in a..." is by all means open ended, meaning it is not arbitrary and you as a listener can walk in his shoes of sorrow and uncertainty
