I'm surprised that clip didn't start being played over and over again on ESPN when Simmons crumbled in that game
That clip should be playing right now during this series.
Just look at Memphis. Despite Steven Adams being huge for them in the regular season, it took the coaching staff all of three minutes to realize that he was lunch meat for these young guards in the playoffs. So they didn't play him because it would harmful to the team. Edwards & D-Lo would have feasted on hunting him on the screen. And he still isn't playing because Golden State would do the exact same thing.
DJ played 17 minutes in game 1 and during those minutes Miami scored 50 points. They only scored 106 in the game!
And yet Doc is sticking with him going forward.
Someone asked a few pages back if the board thinks Doc is a good coach. I personally think he is a great leader of men, but not so good as a coach.
In a league where the average age of teams keeps dropping every year, you need coaches like Doc who won't just teach X's & O's.
But he'll drop knowledge on life in general and how to carry yourself as men in this world.
But sometimes (especially in the playoffs) you really need someone who understands X's & O's the way a military general understands a battlefield. And if that's what you're looking for, Doc
CLEARLY ain't the one.
