I support Mike Tomlin. I don’t like the Pittsburgh Steelers, but I am cool with Mike. The Pittsburgh Steelers just hit a wall right now. They are still a decent team, but they better get their selves straight because the playoffs is coming up fast. Wilson needs to remember he’s 35 years old. He is not 30 or 25 years old anymore certain things he just can’t do right now.

Man fuck you. Shut the fuck up. Fuckin retard.

T.J. Watt named Steelers MVP for a franchise record fifth time

For the fifth time in the past six seasons, Steelers outside linebacker T.J. Watt has been named team MVP in a vote by his teammates.

Watt became the first player in franchise history to earn team MVP five times. Watt had been tied with former Steelers receiver Antonio Brown with four.

“It’s awesome,” Watt said following Wednesday’s practice at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex. “It’s an honor I don’t take lightly. It matters most to the guys who see what I do each and every day and to have it come from them means a lot to me.”

Watt won three consecutive team MVP awards from 2019-2021 as well as last season. The only season this decade he did not win was 2022 when he missed seven games with a torn pectoral muscle. Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick won that year.

Watt this season has 11½ sacks and an NFL-high six forced fumbles. Of his 40 solo tackles, 19 of them have been for losses, and he has 27 quarterback hits.

Watt is in line for a few individual awards in the coming weeks. The Associated Press will announce its All-Pro teams next Friday, and Watt has a chance to earn first-team All-Pro for the fifth time. He also is expected to be named to the Pro Bowl for a seventh consecutive season.

Watt is currently the betting favorite for NFL defensive player of the year, too. Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain and Browns defensive end Myles Garrett are the other main contenders for defensive player of the year.

Watt won defensive player of the year in 2021 and came in second in the voting twice – in 2020 and 2023.

He's spot on...problem number one is interior lineman. Cam is playing a couple seasons too long. Not near the motor he use to have. I think Offense is okay with Russ for another year or two but it appears he's done.

Cam is not the issue. Ogunjobi is the problem. He's horrible at getting off blocks. Cam is phenomenal at it. Larry was out there for majority of the run gashing. We need to draft a stupid d-lineman.

Well, at 35 I wouldn't say phenomenal I would say best one dl we have, but still not near elite level like he used to be. But overall I think we agreed a big problem is D lineman and need one solid fs, cb, and inside LB. In other words, D should be the focus imo over O in the draft.

I'd disagree on that one. Cam was great. Look at how many pass deflections and sacks he had for an interior lineman. He's actually getting better with age and that's due to his technique and his ability to keep O-linemen from his chest to drive block him out. But we need some playmakers on offense. That wr room is horrible. Gotta do better to help Fields. I'd even take the TE from Penn State. Pair him with Friermuth and Washington, trade Pickens, get a free agent like Tee Higgins, you have Roman Wilson coming back, draft another WR and with Austin you got something. I'd draft a D-Lineman second round. Corner in the 4th. We need Trice to take a step forward this year too.

Well, at 35 getting 8 sacks is good, but not phenomenal. Plus with Highsmith and TJ getting doubled some, makes sense for him to be productive, but we need to get his replacement bc i think he may hang it up and Larry O to your point. O line needs help too but need a DL badly. TEs are good, but we do need a solid 3rd wr. Don't think Harris gets resigned so need a rb. Need another solid DB. Don't know how you feel about Queen, but I think he's okay, I wouldn't mind seeing him replaced. I like Wilson over Fields if there's a choice.

Give me Fields over Wilson. He didn't do himself any favors missing open guys but the blame is not all on him. Pass blocking was horrible late in the year. Particularly Dan Moore Jr. Glad his ass is gone. Queen got better as the year went on. Wilson was good as a rookie in the middle. Good on pass coverage. Needs to add more muscle though. Holcolm coming back in the middle will help. Dude played well before his gruesome knee injury last year. Cam said he wants to fulfill his contract meaning he'll play two more years. Just give him a few less snaps but because he's so strong and has such good technique, don't expect age to be a factor in a dramatic drop off. I mean, he can't do this at that level forever but I'm confident in two more years. Harris is gone. I like Warren better. He's a more violent runner. We do need another running back but the Steelers will look at who they already have on the practice squad. Steelers do a good job of developing their guys at that position. I want the best playmaker available on offense with the 1st pick. If it's the TE Tyler Warren from Penn State, get him. Get another vet WR free agent, he'll, you may be able to get two. I'd take Tee Higgins and Chris Godwin ( although Godwin is coming off that gruesome foot injury, you maybe able to get him cheaper as a result). Might could get Devonte Adams on a one year deal as well. Get all three. Along with Warren too!!! Add Calvin Austin III and Roman Wilson to go along with Friermuth and Washington. :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: Now you can complete with anyone in the league. Gotta draft a DL man as well. Need a corner. I don't think Jackson will be back. Sutton was ass. He can go.

Thats a good assessment. I like warren too. I don't what you see in getting that te over a dl though. Especially with two pretty good ones. I don't think Washington is used enough. He could have a break out year over pat if used more, but we hadn't gameplanned a real te package of plays since heath. I like that thought with Adams especially over Mike for veteran impact. Queen can't cover, but can rush and tackle. Holcom should take some pressure off him and let him rush more with his speed, he's not guaranteed to be back to his ole self that's why we need to draft a good ILB for insurance. Good point about the old line it did get worse but maybe because they knew Wilson was going to drop back more than Justin and he being able to maneuver more because the oc did have some pretty good plays for Justin really utilized into a strength. nothing fancy. I think that's the only reason I would be okay with Justin because this oc looks like he has some good packages for him and keep the defense soft. Similar to how they did McNair and Ben in his rookie year.

Good points. I like Washington as well. Only thing with him is he's not a good route runner, but he doesn't need to be. Get him out in the flat and he's guranteed to fall forward after contact for 6 yards at least. Get him in open space and guys do not want to bring him down head on. Set up some TE screens for him. But Moore was regressing badly so you really couldn't do that as the year went on. I wouldn't mind another inside LB though. Your correct. I'd also like to see Austin blitz Queen more. We didn't blitz enough throuout the year. Can't let guys like Burrow and Jackson and Mahomes sit back there all day. D-lineman has to be no later than 2nd round to me. Get an offensive play maker 1st round. Get a 3rd round pick for Pickens and get a DB in the 3rd round for it.

Yeah you right on the money with didn't biltz enough. Especially 2nd half of season. Seems we played aggressive when fields was in on D and conservative on O. And switched when Russell was in... more aggressive on O and conservative on D. Only way to contain a Lamar or Allen or Mahomes with best chance is pressure. We need that KC dc mindset with cb biltz packages and bring biltzburg back... we only thee or 4 personnel short imo.

Exactly. Gotta do more man press as well. Cannot allow opposing receivers and TE's the space to come off the line free. Even in zone, press more often. Especially if your gonna leave Minkah back there.
