OK, fight fans. Here it is. This is the thread where we talk nothing but BOXING. There are so many fights that are worth talking about, but are non-PPV, non-Mayweather, etc., so they slip through the cracks. This is the forum where the fight fans can freely discuss them, without having to start their own thread, for fear that it may get no responses.

For starters, I can't BELIEVE that no one has started this thread before... But since they haven't, I'm starting it now.











And tonight we have a good one, folks. The IBF Welterweight Champion Shawn Porter defends his belt against the Ring Magazine #5 rated Kell Brook... from Sheffield, U.K.

I got Porter by KO in the 8th round, but I admit that I have VERY little information on Brook, so I could be totally wrong. Porter's straight-forward style seems like it would trouble anyone but the slickest of boxers, and Brook doesn't strike me as being very slick... at least from what I've seen.

What say you, BGOL pundits?
 
I think this will be a more challenging fight for Porter than that last one he had up against Maglinaggi. Still, Porter will come out on top.

Dude 30% technician and 70% brawler.
 
I think Porter has this one. I'm watching Porter and Thurman's boxing/career development closely.
 
The whole welterweight division is good enough to last us the rest of the year if they all fought each other (which they won't)

Damn... Those would be some good scraps, though.

Marquez vs. Porter
Paquiao vs. Mayweather
Bradley vs. Khan
Maidana vs. Thurman

and then just mix it up and have the everybody fight a different opponent.
 
Man I think Brook will win this one. It's gonna be tough fight though

I feel the same. Dirrell faded down the stretch, but I think he did enough to eek out the win.

I think Porter wins this fight, but his recent power surge and his workings w/ Vic Conte are slightly concerning.
 
LOL... anytime the name Conte shows up I get concerned.


It could be a random cutman named Raul Conte, and I would still get seriously concerned.
 
Is it just me or is it weird that all of these fights tonight are for a "title"?
 
That was a good stoppage. I got a new respect for Omar Figueroa. My nigga knew he was cut and said fuck it! Let's end this shit!

damn good opener...omar showed heart and urgency and closed the show..thumbs up to estrada for his performance
 
This dude Deontay Wilder is soundin EXTRA confident.... I really hope he can back it up.
 
If Dirrell doesn't sloppy, and get caught with something vicious, he should be far enough ahead to coast to a decision.

I felt there were a few even rounds in the first half, but Dirrell definitely dictated the second. He really showed some great conditioning for this fight.
