I like the gum soles...but ya the print is only visible if you purposely scratch up the toe or let it wear away thru normal wear and tear

Actually they are. And both Nike and Adidas are trying to be Amazon, a la online. A mostly online presence they get higher profit margins. Instead of selling a sneaker for $99 to a retail store they can sell them for $160 themselves. And online allows them not to pay for a store front and employees.

So it's better if you also support your local stores so they can stay in business, because if it's online only it will only make it harder to get shoes.

And it's not like you got a deal. If you have Footlocker or Finishline MVP rewards you can use those for discounts.
